A fern uncurling at Bodnant Gardens | North Wales

I suppose you can clasify this one in the bokeh and blur set~ :-)

My heart smiles at this. You know it is wonderful to have your child love something that is dear to your heart. My oldest loves the camera as I do. He “See’s” what a photographer wants and develops to see, some may say a natural. As in this case he comes barreling through the door hollering…Moooooom, I need the camera! That makes me smile so big….boy, it could be worse couldn’t it? I have a few shots of this little “photo shoot” that I will throw in from time to time. Goodness, I didn’t know that caterpillars could move so fast..lol. These two were taken by myself but I will post a few from my son as well, on another day. Have a great evening! Andrea

It looks like a Cyclamen with curly petals, so I guess it is, if not, maybe someone could tell me what it is.

Lovely sunny day in Cardiff centre.

For me sunrise / dawn photography is special. I love the variety of colours and quietness of this part of any day. This is an old capture from a vist to South Curl Curl pool on Sydney's northern beaches.

The long exposure hopefully accentuates the wave movement on the left hand side to the still blue water of the pool. A large fluorescent flood light provides the yellow glow to the posts that lead you to the end of the pool & horizon.

PP the blues... ; )

Resembling a curled sleeping snake, this picture shows NGC 1087. This spiral galaxy, located approximately 80 million light-years from Earth in the constellation of Cetus, is captured here by a combination of observations conducted at different wavelengths –– or colours –– of light.

But no need to worry, NGC 1087 will not poison you! The apparent menacing red glow actually corresponds to clouds of cold molecular gas, the raw material out of which stars form. Astronomers are able to image these clouds thanks to the Chile-based Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), in which ESO is a partner. The bluish regions in the background reveal the pattern of older, already formed stars, imaged by the Multi-Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) on ESO’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) also in Chile.

The images were taken as part of the Physics at High Angular resolution in Nearby GalaxieS (PHANGS) project. The team is making high-resolution observations of nearby galaxies with telescopes operating across a wide range of wavelengths. Different wavelengths tell us about the physical properties of stars, gas and dust within galaxies, and by comparing them astronomers are able to study what activates, boosts or hinders the birth of new stars.

Yesterday I watched the commercial for the 13 wishes line again and I saw Twyla's hair is supposed to be a bit wavy ^^

And mine has... Awful straight hair :S

So I put some curlers on and after a day she finished this way ^^

It's more wavy than I would like but... It's cute ^^

I think I'll brush her hair to just make them wavy as in the commercial :P

I melted 5 curlers with my hair dryer :D OMG you can't imagine my face when I realize that

And the funniest part is hat the elastic are still ok, just the hard part melted :D

North Curl Curl Beach on Sydney's Northern Beachers.

Issa curled her hair and she loves it....a gentle wave of curls makes her look like a different issa.....one side of her face is bright, the other not...

Why blue? In my world, blue is the color of hope :-)

This young lady, found in a lot together with some interesting clothes, took a relaxing bath and over 24 hours soaking in fabric softener to restore her hair. Once combed, you don't even notice that a lock of hair is missing from the front.

Headed out to North Curl Curl headland this afternoon - thought it had the looks of popping really good but the clouds were just a little thick at sunset.

curled hair, I don't care.

16.9.14... littlest F and her full mane of curls!!

I liked the patterns in this shot but wasn't sure what to do with it until I started creating entries for the Dictionary of Image group.

You know how one angel smiles there.

Then weep not. 'Tis easy for you

To be drawn by a single gold hair

Of that curl, from earth's storm and despair,

To the safe place above us. Adieu.

Don't think I'm going to be on Flickr long this evening, as it is SO slow for me (yesterday also). Have to wait every time I click on something, which is really annoying.

Went with a friend for a lovely drive this morning, north west of the city, out past Cochrane. We were hoping to see a Great Gray Owl or the Northern Hawk Owl that has been reported in that area. However, we were totally out of luck, apart from seeing a Bald Eagle and four Rough-legged Hawks (too far away for photos). Oh, and Ravens and Magpies, I should add : ) The scenery is so spectacular in that area.

And here comes the SNOW - again!!!

WIT

Like many other countries, also The Netherlands have taken measures to stop the spread of that new awful virus. The measures seem to pay off because the number of patients admitted to hospital, and even going on the ventilator in the ICU ward or passing away are gradually decreasing. And luckily nobody in my social circles have caught the virus (knock on wood). So I count myself lucky in this well organised little country.

And because the hairdressers are among the sectors that are not allowed to work, I notice that my hair actually starts to get curls now that it is much longer than it used to be. What a strange phenomenon....

In post converted to BW, and a square crop.
