Haven't uploaded a black & white for a while....I know color tends to be more popular with clients, but man I LOVE a good black & white. Love little Riley here - all tucked up & peaceful.
Just joined twitter, come say hello!

Seen and taken on Monday when we had some real sun.
Better viewed large, but thank you for your favourites. :O)
These deep green tropical elephant ear looking plants always fascinate me. In the Fuqua Orchid House at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The curl of the leaf reveals the purple underside.
I really, really like this girl. Her outfit is perfect. I really dislike (hate) pink in general but it looks gorgeous with the black. What a step up from previous years. It also seems like she has a new shoe mold and her face is just gorge. Simple, but gorge.
As for the hair, it is kinda hard to describe. It feels/looks mostly like saran. The curling part is very... interesting. It honestly doesn't really work. Only one of the tools work (it comes with 2 styling tools and 4 sets of curlers).
The problem with the curls is that they only last for about a minute at most, so you can't fully curl her hair at once. I knew this before buying already though so I don't mind.
The hair itself is still very pretty and really full too. I've seen people complaining about the hair being too short but I disagree. It's not the longest, sure, but it's still pretty darn long. And the amount of hair really seems to equal around 3 regular dolls.
So if you want this girl because of the curl part I wouldn't get her. If you just like her in general I would get her.
Btw, don't boilwash her hair. I wanted to get it straight but the hair got tangled from the hot water. It seems like the hair can't handle hot water. I was able to fix it though (with cold water).

This shell has been weathering out in a rock garden, and I brought it inside to photograph where it's easier to control the light. I don't know the name of this shell as shell identification is a vast dark continent of ignorance in my world.
I first placed the shell on a piece of black Perspex, and then used side lighting with a Yongnuo flash in a 24 inch soft box on either side of the shell. I like side lighting when I want to create the shadows that reveal shapes and textures. The strobes and my camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.
Other shell pictures that I've taken are in my creatively titled Shells album.
