It was leaning on the wall to dry and I took this picture.

when you find

you've become

brittle

it is no

little thing

to remember

you once

did the same

curling motion

wrapping your self

around mine.

memory is

a cherished thing,

a bee's wing

shining in

sunlight,

thrumming in

wind beneath

the chatter of

aspen leaves.

we are changing

colour, shape,

vibrancy.

we are trying

new clothes

more loosely.

Theme Day - Abstract

At Curl Curl, on the northern beaches of Sydney.

Finally I found some time to play with my alter ego Curl again

London: Saint Martin in the Fields

Yesterdays awesome sunset captured at Curl Curl Beach on Sydney's northern beaches. Good to catch up John and Tony! July 2012.

A Different Perspective,in the early morning Low light.

Big waves and an approaching cold front make a dramatic scene at Curl Curl beach, Sydney.

Monument Geyser Basin, Yellowstone National Park.

We had some nice waves to ride. But...when one of these crashed on top of you - you really felt it.

Going every which way!! I brought out the "natural highlights" with software. LOL. It didn't need much nudging. :-)

Macro photography with a vintage Takumar 135mm lens, extension tubes, and a Sony A7.

My wee girl, curled up with a book. (Alas, I had the wrong film speed set, so meh, and all, but I still liked the pic. Sort of.)

Curl Curl Beach is located between Dee Why Beach and Freshwater Beach on the Northern Beaches.

Curl Curl is one of Sydney's best surfing beaches. It faces the east-southeast and averages 1.6-metre waves. The beach is approximately 1.2 kilometres long and is divided into North Curl Curl and South Curl Curl.

The northern part of the beach has a lagoon, which flows to the sea. North Curl Curl has good swimming and body boarding conditions, particularly in front of and south of the lagoon. This area is great for kids, as they can walk through shallow water, build sandcastles or search for sea creatures. Hidden around the end of the headland is one of the most beautiful rock pools in Sydney. During high tide, it can only be accessed via the coastal walk across the headland.

The beautiful south end of Curl Curl is popular, with a child-friendly ocean swimming pool and cafe. If you are planning to swim at the beach, make sure you stay between the flags, as there are several rips at any one time, the most notable one being the Garbage Bowl at the southern end of the beach.

Curling bark on a manzanita tree

South West National Park | TAS | Australia

Curls on a mature pandani plant in the remote wilderness of South West National Park, Tasmania.

This bird was very high on my wish list of species to photograph while in Peru. We were lucky enough to see this one individual for a brief time.

Curl-crested Aracari

Heavy-billed small toucan of humid tropical forest. Forages in the canopy of mature rainforest, often in small groups, and sometimes with other species of aracaris. More diffuse facial pattern than other aracaris, with grayish crown covered with soft curls. Belly has a single red band. Not as vocal as other aracaris, but may be heard giving soft grunts and occasionally loud yelps, sounding rather raptor-like.

Seen on a photo tour in Nothern Peru led by Neotropic Photo Tours and our Peruvian guide Steve Sánchez Wildlife Photography.

rough sea at Broadstairs

An "East Coast low" has formed off the Australian coast, south of Sydney, bringing massive waves to the Sydney coastline. This scene was captured during a sunny break at Curl Curl beach.

...time for a new profile pic...

From the garden.

I am conflicted a bit in if I should have burned out more of the backround or leave it as is. I guess I may get back to it, but right now it pleases me...and there is a promise of veggies come soon!
