When I first saw the Cuban Tody (Todus multicolour), it reminded me of the axiom of aeronautical engineering: if it looks like it should fly well, then it probably will. Perhaps the corollary is that if it doesn't look like it is airworthy, then it probably won't fly well. Surprisingly, this Tody does fly well, in spite of its ungainly appearance.
