"Autumn Milky Way"
9-28-2018
This image came together as a bit of a sweet surprise. We intended to capture the milky way over this beautiful lake in southern Colorado with the mountains and fall foliage in the foreground. What we didn't expect was the amazing foreground reflections that occurred right at sunset. There was absolutely no wind. The lake was like a mirror. This is a 2 exposure image, hand blended in LR and PScc. Nikon D850 with Nikkor 14-24mm F2.8. The foreground was taken right at sunset, 14mm, F11, ISO 64, 1/6sec. The milky way sky and lake was taken about an hour later at 14mm, ISO 6400, F2.8 15 sec. (best viewed large)
We escaped LA and spent the day at Balboa Island and then went to Crystal Cove. That stream of smoke coming from behind the cliffs is smoke from the LA fires. It was nice to get some fresh air for a day.

Visiting Greenwich, arrived the day before from Leith.
We had a good bit of rain on Tuesday that continued into the early hours of Wednesday.
But, by the time we rolled into our parking lot the sun was shinning and every leaf on the ground was bejeweled with sparkling crystal, pearl shaped, droplets of rain.
The usual kit of iPhone, Olloclip Macro Lens, then edited on iPad with Snapseed.
There was some color texture overlay added as well. This caused the leaf to brown up a bit more.
The stairway at the Swarovsky store was made of ...what else but...Swarovsky crystal of course! (The bag holds my crystal Eiffel Tower) ; -)

Crystal Springs is a ghost town in the Pahranagat Valley region of Lincoln County, Nevada. The ghost town is located at the junction of State Route 318 and State Route 375, the Extraterrestrial Highway, just northwest of U.S. Route 93. "As the gateway to the Extraterrestrial Highway and Area 51, the Alien Research Center is one weird Nevada stop you’re definitely not going to want to miss 👽"
This last unspoiled and undeveloped habitat in Kings Bay, the headwaters of the Crystal River, is critical for protection of the West Indian Manatee. The springs in the bay, with their constant 72 degree Fahrenheit water, provide essential warm water refuge for the manatees that congregate there in the winter months.

not my usual type of shot and pretty unoriginal especially for me, seen a few crystal ball shots and wanted to give it ago(i really wanted to try water drop shot but the kids have used up all my patience)
it was harder than i thought to throw in the air, get a clear shot and catch with out braking it ; ) (that was a joke, i don't want everyone braking there ball's and blaming me)
Longing for vacation and must say that Crystal resort in Kemer is a fabolous place. Been there once and certainly would like to go back! It´s the most relexing vacation i´ve been on.

I was torn between the color, and the black and white version of this photo, so I decided to post both.
Crystal Cruises dual seahorse logo, which adorns their ships, is prevalent on their new luxury airliner.
This Crystal Shrine is full of magic with a large tree trunk covered in ivy with ivy ground cover, lots of candles, a glowing crystal in the center and lights swirling upward around it all.
Come see it in world:
