Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong

Crystal Palace Station was built in 1854 to take crowds to the recently-relocated Crystal Palace, which had been part of the 1851 Great Exhibition in Hyde Park. Initially a terminus station on a short spur from Sydenham, on the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway's main line from London Bridge, it became a through station when the 764-yard long Crystal Palace Tunnel was opened in 1856. The following year a spur to Norwood Junction was built, with two new platforms. The station was rebuilt in 1875.
Passenger numbers and receipts were much reduced after the Crystal Palace burnt down in 1936, and by the 1980s the main station building was mostly disused and dilapidated, a much more modest entrance and ticket hall having been built to the side.
In May 2010 Crystal Palace became one of the termini for the new London Overground service over the former East London Line, and it gained new terminal platforms for this role. This was followed in 2012 by a complete restoration of the Victorian structures to their former glory, the installation of lifts to all platforms and demolition of the 1980s ticket hall.

Another shot that I processed of Crystal Pier in San Diego. It is just a lovely place. In this one, I liked the streak lines caused by the waves. I had to leave the camera there and take the shot remotely (so not to ruin my shoes). The star effect of the sun with the reflections on the wet sand were also cool and I thought it deserves a process.
