Television killed your vision.

Guess who's back from vacation, lol. Still a bit rusty but I hope I will be able to regain my moxie soon! 😉

Light painting session with Martin Gerard, Gregory Lamouline, Sylvain Horne

One year ago, I've ordered a CRT tool from the mechanic magician Alan Thompson, brother (and official provider) of the talented Chris Thompson.

But this piece of mechanic has remained unused until yesterday. As I was going to spend a light painting evening with two CRT enthousiasts, I've decided to finally give a try !

Of course, as a total newbie about CRT, I have everything to learn, but I love how it creates unpredictable results (for me). It opens a lot of new possibilities and now my brain is making bubbles. :)

If I had a tripod with me, I'd have tried to Rags1969 this shot with more than three exposures. But I was on my bicycle and a few moments later, it turned PITCH black. I still had a good half a mile to go and could barely see the path because I don't have a headlight. * Note to self...get a new bike, get a headlight and flashing strobe too. Oh...and watch out for the beavers.

Went down to Southbank the other night for the first play with my new camera rotation tool, this was probably my favourite of the night. A massive thank you to Chris Thompson Waving lights in the dark for pointing me in the right direction on what gear I needed to get and who's suggestions saved me quite a bit of money :). SOOC.

First time out of the box for my CRT so, just like a fruit machine, there was an element of chance to what I'd end up with. No lens exif as I was using my adapted Nikon 35mm (at f/8 I think). Capped mid-exposure.

Shot for consideration of an upcoming display but not selected in the end.

This was exactly the idea I had in mind when I started building the new camera-rotation-tool so im very happy with this result. Still the tool needs rethinking and a proper rebuilt so its more easy to use in the field, but thats a matter of finding the right parts and time.

Just try to replace the xenomorph head with the CRT Monitor. Seems nothing awkward at all.

Been experimenting rotating my light blades the past three nights, really enjoying this CRT and have plenty of ideas for it. These are some of my favourites from the past few nights. SOOC apart from a crop.
