Forgotten rural Iowa one room schoolhouse. The dreary, rainy day seems somehow fitting for the state of this once bustling old place....
This was taken from the lot of a mega hog complex,so someone enjoys the view,I suppose....

Ten years ago I had just started in land surveying. We had a contract for a job with the US Forest Service to mark a boundary in national forest land. Those days were long and rough... and gave me my first real experience working deep in the wilderness.
This gas station at the crossroads of two lonely highways was the last trace of civilization before we embarked on our journey into the thick, wooded mountains each day. It was our last stop in the morning, and our first stop in the evening... a welcome sight as the darkness of night was settling in over us.
Now, so much has changed... both in my life and along those highways. And like so many other things, this place that was once a lively, roadside beacon is fading away.
All traces of it will be gone soon, I'm sure. But this intersection will always be a part of some good memories for me.
Crossroads
Spring in the Eifel / Germany is characterized by the bright yellow of the rapeseed, here on old crossroads.
The Crossroads Of The World at the Disney Hollywood Studios which was inspired by a similar design of the same name located at 6671 Sunset Boulevard in California.
The Californian Crossroads was built in 1936 and designed by Robert V. Derrah. It was an open air mall featuring themed architecture from various regions around the globe. The Crossroads tower is part of a structure that looks like a ship which suggested that you were cruising through these various locations.

A southbound CN land barge pounds the three-track former Chicago and Northwestern Geneva Subdivision at West Chicago "JB" Tower on the Elgin Joliet and Eastern Leithton Subdivision.
CN acquired the J fully and completely in 2013 under E. Hunter Harrison as a quicker way in and around Chicagoland as a whole, being the outermost belt corridor.
In previous years on WC, trains would use the Baltimore & Ohio Chicago Terminal trackage to reach home rails on the Waukesha Subdivision at Tower B12 in Franklin Park.
This meant CN trains had to ply their way up and down CSX tracks through the heart of a congested terminal railroad, to access major terminals in the south side or to continue passing through.

They say that magic becomes real at the crossroads
The places not quite here
Yet not quite there
The balance points between “was” and “will be”
When the doors between worlds open
And possibilities are unleashed

Drune: Crossroads
Group Notice From: Drune Forever!, Sparklybootie
Drune: Crossroads is a mix between the East of Eden and 2019-XS versions of Drune. The streets are tighter, the buildings are taller, and there are more interiors to explore! Think of it as a Drune's Greatest Hits, with locations from several previous Drunes returning. It's the classic aesthetic of Drune everyone loves.
Also, I am running a new photo contest with a 10k grand prize. Info here: www.flickr.com/photos/sparklebottom/50681047552/
