Drune: Crossroads
Group Notice From: Drune Forever!, Sparklybootie
Drune: Crossroads is a mix between the East of Eden and 2019-XS versions of Drune. The streets are tighter, the buildings are taller, and there are more interiors to explore! Think of it as a Drune's Greatest Hits, with locations from several previous Drunes returning. It's the classic aesthetic of Drune everyone loves.

I was just taking inventory of some old pic's & dived into my 'no-namers' folder when I came across these pics that I had taken with my point & shoot last summer at a 'crossroads.'
I was scouting around on my motorbike that afternoon for future locations for a potential shoot ... the pics bring back the vivid memories of the warm sun, fresh breeze & how time stood still for a few quiet minutes. In this 180 degree view, there was no bad direction to turn! ... Ironically; I have yet to use this spot as a backdrop !! ... (I think I'm going to return very soon :).

I've reflected on the concept of crossroads in life so much through this photo. What a manifestation of the invisible, yet life-altering event. Sometimes we know we're at a crossroads in life, and sometimes we're blind to it. It's the choices that we make every day that continually steer the course of our life.
Are you on the right track? Making right choices? Doing the right thing even when it's hard? Even when no one's looking? Just because it's the right thing to do?
It's worth some reflection.
I was fortunate enough to gain heaps of perspective on my recent trip, and realize where some things needed to change in my life. There was frankly far too much self centered activity. The most important stuff in life isn't stuff. It's relationships, real ones - not virtualized falsities. Visit your friends, have a coffee or a lunch, sit and chat, look the ones you love in the eyes and tell them. Don't let the ease and popularity of technology rob you of the joy and pleasures of real relationships. You have the power to impact people's lives, not to mention your own as you do so. So go and do it, don't wait. None of us is promised tomorrow.

Locked and stranded,puzzled at crossroads
Lost are my keys.lost are my codes
My choices argue,my confusion implodes
My voices fight,on my journey and abodes
But I've lost me,on the long winding path
Have you seen my keys, no one ever hath
Can you decode my code,my complex math
For my path to choose, for my grand aftermath
I do know, you have no keys of mine
But I saw you choose, your path and time
Your infectious spirit, my thoughts chime
When you told me,to regain to my prime
Oh zealous traveler,Oh seasoned soul
You are never jaded,in part or whole
You crossed many, mountain and knoll
So choose your path, to roll and stroll
Now past the crossroads,on my new adventure
Surprises and hurdles,goals to venture
Your smile and substance, become the quencher
Would wait to meet again, on another adventure

so many times in our journey, we come to a crossroads. the right path is not always the easy to see. there are many distractions, too. how do we choose?
Hearne, Texas, which bills itself as the “crossroads of Texas” is located in southwestern Robertson County at the junction of State Highway 6 and U.S. Highways 79 and 190, and the Missouri Pacific and Southern Pacific railroads. It is located on land that was originally part of a Mexican land grant in 1830 and a tavern and stage stop was operated in the area in the 1840’s. The Hearnes, gentlemen planters of the Old South, moved to the region in 1852 and acquired 10,000 acres where they operated large cotton plantations. Christopher C. Hearne, determined to construct a railroad through the county, offered railroad promoters right-of-way and land for a townsite in 1858. However, the Civil War broke out before the railroad reached Hearne’s plantation and the work stopped. Later, Hearne’s widow deeded land to the Houston and Texas Central Railway. Railroad construction resumed in 1867 and reached the new Hearne depot in April 1868. Soon, homes and businesses lined the streets, churches were organized, and a cotton gin was established. A post office opened in 1869 and, in 1870, the International-Great Northern negotiated a right-of-way across Robertson County on an east-west axis, intersecting the already established rail line at Hearne. The two railroads and the cotton gin established Hearne as a cotton marketing center. For more information, see www.tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/hfh02.

Gwynedd Preserve, my favorite local place to get lost and found. This tree, one of many I shoot again and again. Still it entices. From this point of view, choices. I usually go straight. Today left due to shortage of time. A new way, a new discovery. Good stuff!
Same tree, different view

This sign south of Downtown Clarksdale displays the opening lyrics to Robert Johnson's Cross Road Blues (and later Cream's Crossroads). Robert Johnson and his "crossroads" legend (unrelated to the song) have little connection to Clarksdale, but the town definitely was the crossroads of the Delta Blues.

'The Crossroads', a 300 hundred year old Coaching House, held together by ivy and not much more...
Behind this crumbling wreck is a working farm; the farmer was fine with us taking shots of the outside... his wife, not so keen
In a few weeks most of this will be hidden behind a carpet of green ivy
