“Cosmos is an invasive weed that blooms in large numbers. The Cosmos plant is native to Mexico. Its beauty is a big draw. Many insect species like bees, beetles, butterflies etc collect pollens from cosmos plants in large quantities, thereby affecting the pollination of native plants. The aggressive nature of this plant endangers the environment of the country. ” Sathya Natarajan
These beautiful delicate flowers are just beginning to bloom in my garden. I love how they bloom in early summer and last until the first frost! :-)
The little burlap bag held the favours at my granddaughter's wedding... I was annoyed that I didn't notice that the "S" was not showing after I had processed it!! It was so appropriate as her last name is "Strong"
Wishing you all a good day and weekend ahead,,,, I will be busy with family visiting,,,, Thanks so much for your visits

Happy Sunday!
I bought this mix of Cosmos flowers for the garden. A lot of the flowers are not doing well during the heatwave conditions, but hopefully they will come good again.
We had a southerly come through last night which cooled the temperatures down dramatically and we had a lovely night's sleep. Today was only 25 C (a bit different to the 41 C on the weekend), but it is only a temporary relief. It is expected to be 41 C again tomorrow - oh no!!

Last year I had so many varieties of Cosmos, my garden was full of beauty. Cosmos are one of my favourite flowers. This year though, hardly any, I think you get good and bad years in all plants, whether vegetable or flower.
Yesterday, as I walking through the garden, there was a small cluster of Cosmos. Literally appeared over a few days. The flower heads are sensational.
I took this image with my Lensbaby Velvet and then played with processing in Topaz. I need to use Topaz a bit more, but I find the images a little unreal sometimes, I prefer as little interference with my images as possible. Anyway, this is my result. I'm unsure what I think of my processing as I'm not a great processer. Opinions and thoughts welcomed.
I'm off to make a hot drink and take some medication..... worryingly, I have woken up rather poorly. Sore throat, cough, aches and pains and feeling really crappy. Hoping its just a winter virus and not COVID. I've had all my COVID and FLU jabs and up to date, so hoping I just get mild symptoms...

Must get my seeds ready for this year as they were so good to have in the garden last year. Have a great day folks ;0)
We have cosmos flowers blooming in our house today.
Pale pink, lovely, pastel dancers floating in the light.
They express who they are, beyond any shadow of a doubt. They know who they were meant to be.
No thinking about direction, or the right path to take, just a simple, dumb expression of who they have always been, from seed to flower and back again to seed.
Cosmos…. Their name itself captures all of their purpose. To simply be.
I took this photo yesterday morning. Storm Angus visited during the night and my cosmos were obliterated - HSS!
Cosmos is a genus, with the same common name of cosmos, consisting of flowering plants in the sunflower family. Wikipedia
