Here's my finished quilt from the Cosmic Burst QAL from distantpickles.blogspot.com/p/cosmic-burst-quilt-along.html. This was a super fun QAL and I love this pattern! It's fun to make one block a whole quilt. I'm glad I went with the bigger size, but I do want to make a small one too! Thanks Julie for the great QAL, you really gave a personal touch to all of us in the QAL. I'm already looking forward to more QAL's from you!

The cosmic trio of the three brightest objects in the sky can be seen here forming a triangle in the sky. In the picture you can see Venus (the sister planet of Earth), Jupiter (the biggest planet of our solar system) and last crescent Moon of the lunar cycle (this moon forms a very thin crescent just before the sunrise which makes it too hard to spot) forming a beautiful right angled triangle.

A4, liquid glazing paint
This is the second painting of the new series of Early Paintings.
The picture shows Purusha, the cosmic person. Since 1974, when I started meditation, changed my studies from economy to philosophy and Romance languages, I had been increasingly immersed myself into eastern thought and cosmology. Having become a meditation teacher in the TM-movement of Maharishi in Oct 1977 I first was active in the TM-centre of Münster, Germany. In 1978 I shifted for post-graduate studies to Freiburg, Germany, where I immediately got the task of being the head of the TM-Centre there, which was then being named as Academy of Vedic Science.
During 3 years, until I left Freiburg in 1981, I was head of the centre, besides my studies. I had been diving into meditation as well as into Vedic lore. When I first came into contact with the Great Invocation given by Master DK, I experienced a tremendous inpour of energies finding an expression in the series of pictures painted "in fire". So this one is the second fiery painting. Like the other paintings it was done quite fast and in a kind of rapture.
I had painted in a searching style during the 70ies, influenced by psychedelics and surrealism, but dissolved all these pictures in the 80ies. Now I felt full of fiery energy and wanted to express this inner intensity.
just because... it seems the very molecules that make up clouds of this nature are herded and nourished and formed into the most amazing shapes by Cosmic Divine forces way beyond our knowing...
I like it that way. Mystery is good!
