One may understand the cosmos, but never the ego; the self is more distant than any star. ~G.K. Chesterton, "The Logic of Elfland," Orthodoxy, 1908

Top experts convey their astronomical knowledge to novices, intermediate students and advanced practitioners, and elaborate on what humankind now knows about the universe. Jerry T. Bonell (US) of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center explain the “hot universe” that is brimming with high-energy insights. Scientists of the European Southern Observatory in Chile, on the other hand, introduce us to the “cold universe”. The visible portion of the cosmos is explained by Dietmar Hager (AT), an astrophotographer who’s certainly the right man for this job.

Semiramis and Kaspar. They are different, even too much. But they love each other. And Semiramis will have a child from him.

I was playing with some new ideas. I like pop art and I got the background, I like cosmic and I got my cloudy background. I want the person to look a bit like a doll figure so... I did something on her..

Well, is a new experimental try and I think it turns out good.

I also think there is a big contrast with the last one I did. Blue and Red... warm and cold?

If we are a metaphor of the universe,

the human couple is the metaphor par excellence,

the point of intersection of all forces and the seed of all forms.

The couple is time recaptured, the return to the time before time.

- Octavio Paz, Mexico, Nobel Laureate in Literature

This observation by Paz is similar to Tantric/Hindu cosmology, where the whole universe is perceived as being created, penetrated and sustained by two fundamental forces, which are permanently in a perfect, indestructible union. These forces or universal aspects are called Shiva (male) and Shakti (female) i.e. The Lingam. The union of lingam and yoni represents the "indivisible two-in-oneness of male and female, the passive space and active time from which all life originates"

The Garden of Cosmic Speculation at Portrack House is open just one day a year. We went along, with what must have been half the county, to have a look

Peach shot with light from above.

A mesmerizing piece to stare at. I find it has a soothing effect on the spirit. My mother came very close to talking me into giving her this painting. She's my #1 fan and collector - ahhh mom's, got to love em:)

collage on paper, almost square, started in the morning, finished in the evening... torn bits of paper, glue, smudge here and there, scribbles in my own hand = mixed media, no mixed feelings.
