This was built for a Steel City LUG mini challenge. The object was to recreate set 6825 using 35 parts or less (not counting the figure).
I envisioned the Cosmic Comet II as a small recon craft used by the Federation Search and Rescue Team (stay tuned…)
I tried to retain many of the physical characteristics of the original. There are exactly 35 parts, plus the minifig.
70's Omega Seamaster Cosmic 166036 caliber 752. 35mm monoblock case, beautiful soft sunburst silver dial with blue trim at the outer limit and a German day wheel. Weird movement in this timepiece. Non hacking, no quick set day but quick set date. The date changes by pulling the crown out to the 2nd position, pushing it back in and repeating that motion. Very nice vintage timepiece that's a definite keeper in my collection.

City ordinances make painting on walls in Los Angeles illegal. So in October 2012 L.A. artists Ruth Castillo and Sonji Mariposa drove to Albuquerque to find a wall to paint a mural. They wanted to show a woman that was a strong woman. A wall was 'donated ' to them and so Cosmic Warrior came into being. She's a bit faded now but still there for all to see on the corner of Edith Boulevard and Coal Avenue, Albuquerque.

I took this panorama of 42 single frames in August on a place - between KM 29 and KM 30 at the LP4 - I really like and I spent much time there alone. From there you have an stunning view down to the north side of the island with its ocean of clouds and fantastic und colorful rock formations. It was the first time I tried a 180 degree panorama at night like this and I am happy with the result and love the smileyish look of the Milky Way.

There are few more humbling experiences than looking up at the night sky. It's easy to stare up at the enveloping vastness and feel small and wonder about your place in it all. There is still so much to learn about what is out there and so much that it can teach us about ourselves. This image taken at the coastal village of Toco reminds me of Carl Sagan's quote referring to the universe as a cosmic ocean "Recently, we've waded a little way out, maybe ankle deep, and the water seems inviting. The ocean calls."

ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano (middle) and NASA astronaut Drew Morgan (left) work on get-ahead tasks during the fourth spacewalk to service the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS).
Saturday’s spacewalk, which lasted five hours and 55 minutes, was the last in a four-part series to extend the life of the particle physics detector that was not designed to be maintained in space.
Installed on the outside of the International Space Station in 2011, the instrument out-lived its three-year mission time to provide researchers with invaluable data on cosmic rays that bombard our planet. When the cooling pumps for AMS-02 began to fail, plans were made to service the instrument in space and give it a new lease on life and science.
During the first three spacewalks Luca and Drew replaced the old cooling system with a new one using a tube-tying technique known as swaging that was quite the feat to perform in space gloves.
On this final spacewalk, where Drew held the lead role of EV1, the pair set out to check the tubes that connect the cooling system to the larger instrument for any leaks.
When a leak was found in tube number five, Luca tightened this connection and waited around an hour before checking the tube again. Upon this second check, a leak was still present, but thankfully after retightening once more and waiting again the leak was overcome and the system was declared leak-free.
In between these leak checks, the duo worked on get-ahead tasks, activities that often set the stage for future spacewalks, should the astronauts have extra time on their hands.
Once all leaks were addressed, Luca and Drew wrapped things up by installing a mud flap between the new pump and vertical support beam before removing a cover known as a shower cap to expose the new radiator system.
Five hours and two minutes into Saturday’s spacewalk, Luca broke the European record for the most time spent spacewalking. He has now clocked in 33 hours and nine minutes, beating previous record holder Swedish ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang’s 31 hours and 54 minutes.

Gostei mto! Passei duas camadas e ele ficou bem brilhosinho, mas como tem uma textura ótima é possível usar com uma camada apenas. Aprovado :D

Elk Island's Astotin Lake. Shooting at night can be quite an experience around here. You never know what wild animal can drop for a visit. As much as I like them all, I prefer to keep quite a distance from them, especially in the middle of a dark night... ;D
Several years ago I shot the photos for this image. I had a vision in my head but didn´t find a good way to edit. This weekend I gave it a new try. Finally I managed to composite the image in a way I had envisioned.
This beautiful tree stands in a nature reserve south of Gothenburg called Sandsjöbacka, a place that reminds me of Iceland and it´s perfect for the my photos, since I often search for moon landscapes in my images.
