This was built for a Steel City LUG mini challenge. The object was to recreate set 6825 using 35 parts or less (not counting the figure).
I envisioned the Cosmic Comet II as a small recon craft used by the Federation Search and Rescue Team (stay tuned…)
I tried to retain many of the physical characteristics of the original. There are exactly 35 parts, plus the minifig.
This image and all the rest in the series were created from the two images below, abstract shapes in the ice of frozen Lime Lake in south-central Michigan

City ordinances make painting on walls in Los Angeles illegal. So in October 2012 L.A. artists Ruth Castillo and Sonji Mariposa drove to Albuquerque to find a wall to paint a mural. They wanted to show a woman that was a strong woman. A wall was 'donated ' to them and so Cosmic Warrior came into being. She's a bit faded now but still there for all to see on the corner of Edith Boulevard and Coal Avenue, Albuquerque.

Rain always makes for interesting photo opps.
I was walking through a parking lot and noticed this colorful abstract shape on the pavement. A magical spot where rain was meeting oil.
In the comments is the original shot off my iPhone.

It is not the Moon that is regressing; rather, we, on the lap of and along with Mother Earth, are orbiting and shadowing over the Moon. It reminds one of Plato’s allegory of the cave — light and darkness shaping what we perceive as real. This silent soliloquy reverberated in the vacuum of the orbiting solar system, in the infinite darkness of the universe, occurring as some celestial events of which randomness is apparent, but when looked upon closely, a prefixed destiny of meeting and moving away. This natural cosmic chiaroscuro is formed by our own reflection, along with a complete shadow of what has been our home for millions of years, what has been the total summing up of what we were, are, and ever will be, and what were ours, are, and ever will be in the same vessel or chalice. As the human race, did we ever want to see our face in the mirror? Maybe a lunar eclipse is none other than Allah's reminder to check our own visage in the mirror, in totality. Shakespeare called the Moon ‘the sovereign mistress of true melancholy,’ and does she seem to embody that particular mood here, slipping quietly into obscurity? I think not. I think it is the original form of humility that was supposed to be the ultimate companion of a person, in the somnolent walk of life. However, we are always so easily dazzled.

There are few more humbling experiences than looking up at the night sky. It's easy to stare up at the enveloping vastness and feel small and wonder about your place in it all. There is still so much to learn about what is out there and so much that it can teach us about ourselves. This image taken at the coastal village of Toco reminds me of Carl Sagan's quote referring to the universe as a cosmic ocean "Recently, we've waded a little way out, maybe ankle deep, and the water seems inviting. The ocean calls."
I took this panorama of 42 single frames in August on a place - between KM 29 and KM 30 at the LP4 - I really like and I spent much time there alone. From there you have an stunning view down to the north side of the island with its ocean of clouds and fantastic und colorful rock formations. It was the first time I tried a 180 degree panorama at night like this and I am happy with the result and love the smileyish look of the Milky Way.

ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano (middle) and NASA astronaut Drew Morgan (left) work on get-ahead tasks during the fourth spacewalk to service the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS).
Saturday’s spacewalk, which lasted five hours and 55 minutes, was the last in a four-part series to extend the life of the particle physics detector that was not designed to be maintained in space.
Installed on the outside of the International Space Station in 2011, the instrument out-lived its three-year mission time to provide researchers with invaluable data on cosmic rays that bombard our planet. When the cooling pumps for AMS-02 began to fail, plans were made to service the instrument in space and give it a new lease on life and science.
During the first three spacewalks Luca and Drew replaced the old cooling system with a new one using a tube-tying technique known as swaging that was quite the feat to perform in space gloves.
On this final spacewalk, where Drew held the lead role of EV1, the pair set out to check the tubes that connect the cooling system to the larger instrument for any leaks.
When a leak was found in tube number five, Luca tightened this connection and waited around an hour before checking the tube again. Upon this second check, a leak was still present, but thankfully after retightening once more and waiting again the leak was overcome and the system was declared leak-free.
In between these leak checks, the duo worked on get-ahead tasks, activities that often set the stage for future spacewalks, should the astronauts have extra time on their hands.
Once all leaks were addressed, Luca and Drew wrapped things up by installing a mud flap between the new pump and vertical support beam before removing a cover known as a shower cap to expose the new radiator system.
Five hours and two minutes into Saturday’s spacewalk, Luca broke the European record for the most time spent spacewalking. He has now clocked in 33 hours and nine minutes, beating previous record holder Swedish ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang’s 31 hours and 54 minutes.

Gostei mto! Passei duas camadas e ele ficou bem brilhosinho, mas como tem uma textura ótima é possível usar com uma camada apenas. Aprovado :D
