The echoes of the past are almost palpable in this disused lunatic asylum.

Human Consciousness - Exercises - Everyone knows that ! Social Media and Internet

“Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence and thereby eventually lose all ability to defend ourselves and those we love. In a modern economy it is impossible to seal oneself off from injustice.

If we have brains or courage, then we are blessed and called on not to frit these qualities away, standing agape at the ideas of others, winning pissing contests, improving the efficiencies of the neocorporate state, or immersing ourselves in obscuranta, but rather to prove the vigor of our talents against the strongest opponents of love we can find.

If we can only live once, then let it be a daring adventure that draws on all our powers. Let it be with similar types whos hearts and heads we may be proud of. Let our grandchildren delight to find the start of our stories in their ears but the endings all around in their wandering eyes.

The whole universe or the structure that perceives it is a worthy opponent, but try as I may I can not escape the sound of suffering.

Perhaps as an old man I will take great comfort in pottering around in a lab and gently talking to students in the summer evening and will accept suffering with insouciance. But not now; men in their prime, if they have convictions are tasked to act on them.”

Un autre graffiti antiscientifique sur le campus de Lyon 1.

"Science is progressing - consciousness is regressing". This anti-scientist graffiti on a wall of the campus of University Lyon 1, refers to a very famous quote of the French Renaissance writer Rabelais : "Science sans conscience n'est que ruine de l'âme", which could be translated as "science without consciousness is nothing but the ruin of the soul".

Ecological ‪#‎resilience‬: the capacity of a system to absorb disturbance and reorganize while undergoing change so as to still retain essentially the same function, structure, identity, and feedbacks. How different would our planet be right now if we were to learn this skill from the ‪#‎plant‬ world?

"Dzata: The Institute of Technological Consciousness" is an artistic research project by South African artists Russel Hlongwane, Francois Knoetze, and Amy Wilson. In fabricating a fictional institute and its archive, the artists imagine centuries-old vernacular technological practices from across the African continent.

The UK premiere of The Tyranny of Consciousness (2017), by pioneering filmmaker and video artist, Charles Atlas, consists of a five-channel installation with a mosaic of 44 simultaneous but different sunsets, accompanied by a screen bearing an 18-minute countdown to darkness. It is accompanied by the voice of legendary New York drag queen Lady Bunny, who talks about peace, life together, and how, when it comes to US politics, “the right questions are never being asked.”

Charles Atlas’ work has brought together dance, performance, and media for nearly four decades, and The Tyranny of Consciousness (2017) was shown at the Venice Biennale in 2017, where it won a special mention.

This series has been programmed in partnership with Swansea Pride, LGBT History Month and has been generously supported by Art Fund, Friends of Glynn Vivian and the Arts Council of Wales.

你只是想停止它,所以經常性地擴張那傷口,

常常一下午,你大口大口歇斯底里地嘔著歡笑,

最後儀式性地,笑嘻嘻而無聲的哭,

你總不理解如何接受那樣子的安慰。

Buddha’s sarira refers to parts of his body, and also to his sacred bones or sacred beads.

This is the so-called essence of the three Buddhist sciences.

Of these sciences, practicing Buddha’s commandments demonstrates the true spirit of sarira. This requires one not only to pursue asceticism but also to save many ordinary people. Upon Jajang’s return to Korea from China, he taught the Bodhisattva Commandment Scripture at Hwangryongsa Temple for seven days and nights. The core of these commandments is not to do evil and to save ordinary suffering people.

Shakyamuni Buddha himself practices such mercy and almsgiving.

Moreover, when Shakyamuni, as a bodhisattva in his former life, saw that a tigress that just gave birth to seven cubs was starving, he dedicated his body to the tigress, thus saving it. People collected his bones and built Chilbo Pagoda, and his bones subsequently became sarira. This legend, depicting Buddha’s former life, suggests the religious spirit of sarira. Sarira is the crystal of the three sciences of the Buddhist commandment of peace and wisdom. In a deeper sense, sarira is the condensed expression of the bodhisattva spirit resulting from the practice of the six means to reach Nirvana beyond life and death, and is the crystal of the bodhisattva commandments.

When the populace-oriented Buddhism flourished, ordinary Buddhists built Buddhist pagodas, where they enshrined and worshipped the sarira. This tradition popularized worship in pagodas where sarira are enshrined. In particular, the Geumgang Commandment Altar, which is composed of a pagoda and staircases and houses Buddha’s sarira, has become the place where commandments are given to monks and a place of worship for many people.

Jajangyula wrote the following Buddhist commandment on the pillar tablet behind the temple’s main hall.
