Photographing this show was AMAZING. Seriously. GROUPLOVE's lighting was out of this world - some of, if not THE, best lighting I've ever worked with. Saints of Valory and The Knocks also put on really fun sets, which was totally unexpected for me and made me really happy to get to photograph. The best part was that although I hadn't been cleared for a portrait shoot or interview, GROUPLOVE let me take a quick portrait of them after their show, and their guitarist gave me quite a long interview, too. I'd HIGHLY recommend checking them out, especially live. They are an absolute BLAST to watch and listen to, and put so much energy into their performance that I sometimes felt out of breath just from watching!

Oggi niente editoriali di satira, in rispetto della Giornata di SIlenzio Attivo contro la Legge Bavaglio...
Per dare comunque sfogo alla mia contorta creatività ho deciso di metter su Flickr un divertissement campagnolo di ieri
Ieri pomeriggio ero in campagna dai suoceri.
GRAZIE! ;-)
-----------------------------Rough translation in my terrible english (sorry!)---------------------------
Today, in Italy, we are on strike against the horrible menace of the so called Gag - Law, which means that all of us who write, draw and work with News'World join togrther in a kind of Active Silence Day, avoiding any piece of news concerning politics and everything like that matter...
So I decided to have a little Stream-of-consciousness' training and - as I did when I was younger than now - I began scribbling an doodling, without any previous idea or plot... here is an eye, there are ears, noses, tentacles, strange tongues etc....
The result have been three nice and weird monsters... I don't know who are these ones, where they came from, what are their feelings, ideas and ways of life... Can you help me?
Comments' space is here for YOU, my Flickr-friends:-)... Engage!
Pansified. I like that word. Gay. Photoshop has this crush on both Georgia O'Keefe and Barbara Hepworth. Or the mathematics of its deformation programs do. Because you often find yourself wandering into their minds and vocabulary.

I have updated this post today 25 March 2010
Walking in Seoul today, purposely lost, I stumbled upon the Han river.
What a gorgeous sight. As I walked along the shore it felt as if I was
moving to the natural rhythm of the universe. One of those moments I
can only describe as the rapture of existence. Breathing and moving
such that your very being is in accord with the world around. There is
nothing quite like this state-- no drug can compare (although some
come close). It is a dreamlike state. All things appear as they truly
are-- infinite and beautiful-- everything at once in perfect harmony.
All that is and should be is there surrounding you.
In that moment I realized that our perceptions, how we see and react
to the world, are concerned only with our survival. Impulses for good,
bad, and the various perceptual ethos-- it is our animal nature. I
think of it as a flesh and blood subconscious; reactive to
programmable instincts. It's hard not to think of the human animal as
amazing; every action, every step we take, every stroke of a pen, all
is according to a programmed instinct, all concerned with survival.
We can reprogram and guide our actions through simple conscious
awareness. We learn, we repeat and copy to acclimate into the
surroundings. If you want to be happy, then acclimate into
happiness-- find happy people and learn from them. It is an
incredible powerful capability and well worth practicing throughout
your life.
Perhaps as an evolutionary side effect this capability has thrust us
out from the wild and into man made environments. Everything
necessary for our survival is now at our disposal and yet we are often
lacking purpose. Many, and I dare say most, people do not know who
they are or what they ought to be doing with their life.
The answer used to be simple: to survive and participate in this
struggle for existence; to be the best of who you are and survive. In
the wild this is obvious-- there are few, if any, existential crises
in nature. A squirrel does not wonder why it exists, it just simply
exists and follows its instincts without question. Modern humans have
little to no life or death struggles. We are left to shape the world
and whether we want to or not, this has become our function. Perhaps
it is wise for us all to acclimate into this new purpose, to embrace
it as fully as our ancestors in the wild embraced their struggle to
survive. Their struggle, and the very best of them is with us today.
We are their legacy, and we are the shapers of worlds they could only
imagine.
But for today I will relax, and move to the natural rhythm of the
universe; dream with eyes open and experience the rapture of
existence...

FROM SEX TO SUPER-CONSCIOUSNESS BY OSHO
This book became world famous, world notorious. This is not for sex, but this is the book which is against sex, strange!...
Osho here says, "There is a way to go beyond sex, you can transcend sex..."
In this book Osho says: I say to you if a person can remain in the lovemaking state, can remain in that Samadhi, in that submergence for three hours, then one single act of intercourse is enough to free one from sex for the rest of one’s life. It leaves behind such contentment, such an experience of bliss, such awareness, that it lasts a lifetime. After this single act of intercourse one can attain to the stage of real celibacy.
But we never attain celibacy even after a lifetime of sexual indulgence. One reaches a ripe old age, one comes to the end of one’s life, but one is never free from the lust for sex, from the passion for intercourse. Why? It is because we have not understood the art and the science of sex. No one has ever explained it to us nor have we ever thought about it, reflected upon it or discussed it. In our lives no experienced ones have engaged us in a dialogue over it, in a communion over it. We are in a worse situation than animals even.

This piece signifies change by way of discerning reality, true history, and a need for change both socially as a community and spiritually within one's divine path. This piece also depicts removing stereotypes as well as correcting the mindset of the misguided mind with a challenge. This challenge is to challenge thyself by graduating from a consistently failing condition. Don't let the system of failure weigh you down. Stay strong and hang on! Enjoy - Afro Art Ivy

Graffiti Consciousness - The Art of Street Politics
Free exhibition @ Pogo Café, Hackney, London - May 2007
Is graffiti mindless?
Whatever you think about graffiti, from tags to major works of art, there are some graffiti artists whose work is often outwardly political and social; sending out a strong, sometimes subtle, message about the state of our society today.
The exhibition features Martin Bull’s black & white photographs of street graffiti and posterings by Banksy, Arofish, Mantis, Jimmy Cauty, El Chivo, Eine, Shepard Fairey, Blek le Rat, Junkerade, & others, as well as accompanying art works by several of the above. Original art on loan includes three from Arofish; a brand new canvas, a stunning 'Eject & Survive on a map of Afghanistan, and a cardboard version of the angel and paratroppers. mantis has done an iNeed on a page of The Financial Times, and I've also got a canvas from Junkerade.
It opened on the 2nd of may, which was also the 4th anniversary of the occupation of Iraq. Only 26,540 civilian deaths in this 4th year- ho hum.....
