That this is Mount Robert, we've looked at maps and worked out where we stayed etc...
A few hours later we were at the top of Mount Robert.
And being in a coach we were dropped off at lake level, the car park is significantly higher than the lake.
Marioma is a spirited, tough, smart young woman who is quickly learning Engish and learning to advocate for her family here in Alaska. I came to know her through a teen photo project. I took this photo at an event put on by both the Nuer/Southern Sudanese group and the Darfuri group in Anchorage, Alaska with their American friends form the Save Darfur organization.

This small truck is driving over this concrete slab layed across the Kumozu River in central Mie. From the driver's perspective, it's not much different than crossing the Bridge of Khazad-Dum in Lord of the Rings.
I'd seen this bridge numerous times from the train, but never saw a truck crossing it before. I'd wanted this picture the whole time I lived in Mie but had to ultimately wait until this trip I took as a Tokyo resident in mid-July 2014 - it was the very last time I would ride the Kintetsu Urban Liner as a resident of Japan, so good timing.
