Spotted in a wealthy area of North London. Looked a bit abandoned, but under the mould, it seemed to be in great condition and completely free of any cosmetic rust. Not a huge surprise seeing as it only has 18K on the clock. I expected it to have had the same owner from new, but apparently they bought the car in 2006, however, I’d imagine it has been in the same family since new. Wasn’t sold too far away from where I spotted it - AFG Colindale.

As you can plainly see, I don't try very hard to keep my MacBook Pro in mint condition. The bevels are unglued, the fans aren't as quiet, and as for the onions: I'm just lucky they haven't set the thing on fire.

“Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see”

- Rene Magritte

My tribute to the famous painting by Rene Magritte ( 21 November 1898 – 15 August 1967) with the title “The Human Condition” oil on canvas, painted in 1933

I sat in a luxury box at Monday night's Nats game, directly behind home plate. You know those people who say the wealthy are just like us? They're lying to you. They've got fresher fruit, comfier chairs, colder beer and better views. And it's all served with real silverware. And when you're done, they bring out special cookies. Special cookies! Because the pomegranate and papaya weren't enough!

And psssst: They watch their baseball games in the air conditioning, too. None of that 101-degree heat for them! Imagine what that would do to the papaya!

"I could stay there for a lifetime"

Better days with brighter sunshines are coming. Everyone's "Woohoo !" !

- This title also tries to make a comparison between the ephemeral poppies, and our human condition, which is ephemeral as well, but in another way(s)... -

This afternoon, i came back home earlier than usual. After two fruitless hours in front off my tv, i decided to look out the window.

The weather was cloudy and we almost couldn't see the sun. I had to wait before going outside with my camera.

And there was not much to do inside. Actually i didn't really check out what i could do because i wanted to breathe some refreshing and sunny air, and maybe to take some pictures as well...

But i hoped this was not going to last long.

Twenty minutes later, without asking myself more questions, i opened the door and jumped outside.

Sometimes you easily become aware of things, habits you'd always like to live with... Your will can change everything without a lot of efforts.

I decided to ride my bike if ever the clouds would have liked to wring themselves.

Though despite that i put rain clothes into my bag, nothing happened.

In fact, i couldn't know that the bad weather that persisted this entire week was going to change into a beautiful and sunny afternoon allowing me to find my smile back.

At that moment of the day, when the sun suddenly appeared from behind the clouds now disapearing, i found a wheat field full of poppies. The first one this year !

I couldn't even dream of it !

The horizon was immense, i couldn't see anything but wheat, and wheat, and poppies... And the sun was wonderfully reflecting on the wheat dancing with the wind... The sun was not so hot on my skin, and sometimes the wind was a little cold. But it was an intense feeling, only the fact of being here, lost in the immensity.

I could stay there for a lifeftime.

I only stayed two hours, or more. I don't know. In fact i don't even remember.

I was feeling alive for the very first time this year :D

Just another one of the thousands that disappear from the face of the Earth without a trace, each year.

In pursuit of my lifelong goals of getting closer to natural surroundings and improving my general human condition, I bought an overpriced house with property on the Olympic Peninsula. I moved, and I'm selling my house in the city. Not sure what I am actually improving in the short term, certainly not the overvalued real estate market. Hoping that's temporary. It's been an incredibly stressful few months, I haven't been able to do much else, and I can see no end in the foreseeable future.

One of the better situations in this scenario, though, is having all this new blank wall space with high ceilings to hang big prints!

In the process of moving I found a lot of material I have not chosen to do really anything with before, including a small test print of this detail of Mineral Creek in the Hoh Rainforest that I took back in 2010. Never thought much of it before, but it now strikes me as perfect to blow up real big with thin borders to showcase on a certain big wall in my new house. Fits perfect with the forested locale. Surprising sometimes how old stuff I ignored in the past can fit just right with an unforseen new application. For interior design, the stunning, grand sunset landscapes that look so great on websites and in publications don't always work like I think they will when I get them up on the wall. Simple, minimalist compositions, extracting and isolating patterns and details in nature, then emphasizing with the huge print treatment tends to work really well, especially when the subject matter is harmonious with the local area, helping bring a little of the outside indoors. I can almost smell and taste the misty, wet hanging from the lush moss edging this cascading creek.
