Here's the description of this model from the brochure:

For the family with a slightly more formal way of life, or where both adults and children entertain frequently, is this plan, illustrated with four variations to fit individual tastes and site requirements.

Here, family room and bedrooms are in one wing, the living-dining area in the other, with the kitchen and service porch conveniently located in relation to both as well as to the rear terrace which extends almost the width of the house. A second terrace off the living room provides additional space for outdoor living.

Hardwood paneling of pecky cypress and a corner fireplace add their special touch of charm and individuality to this house, designed for joyous family living and gracious entertaining - all with a minimum of housekeeping cares.

The fouurth generation Bonneville 1965-70 was dramatically restyled with swooping rooflines, rakish fender lines and the "Coke bottle" profile contributed to making one of the most popular body styles ever produced. The Bonneville got the new styling, with plenty of bright trim on the lower body sides and on the rear deck. Inside, new upholstery and instrumentation were featured. the Hydra-Matic transmission became Turbo Hydra-Matic from 1965. Other options included power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. other options included power sears, power windows, radio, cruise control, and eight lug aluminum wheels that included integral brake drums for improved stopping power. Engines included a 389 Ci and 400 Ci with 303 and 340 bhp which with options could reach 376 bhp.

For 1967 GM discontinued the Tri-Power engine options on all of its cars. That year also brought a larger 400 cu in (6.6 L) V8 as the standard engine for Bonnevilles and other full-sized Pontiacs to replace the previous 389, while the 421 cu in (6.9 L) V8 was replaced by a new 428 cu in (7.0 L) engine that offered as much as 390 horsepower

This particular A40 Sports was in fabulous condition when it was spotted as an exhibit at the 2013 Classic Transport Gathering at Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire, on the 26th August 2013. This particular Austin was made back in 1953 and it was first registered in the UK, in the same year, on the 28th of February 1953 so presumably has lived in the UK all its life. This one does have its original engine according to the DVLA, a 1.2 Litre (1198cc) Straight-Four engine which runs on petrol. This particular car when seen had some extras like the period badges and boot box to add to the cars character and it looked stunning at the time.

Making the final stop on my way home from Europe, I had a day in Dubai.

I thought about going to the large, air conditioned malls as the temperature was around 40oC but decided to take myself to one of the souks in the city and try and get some images of the locals.

Straight away, the vendors are trying to lure you to buy their spices, silk, trinkets and souvenirs - trying their best to get you to buy from them. With a polite "no shkran" I kept moving along.

I eventually came to a store where there was no vendor and I was able to look through the souvenirs and pashminas that I wanted to buy for gifts for friends back home. Then out came Hassan: this was his stall. Like many of the people in Dubai, Hassan comes from Pakistan and works in Dubai to support his wife and young son back in Pakistan.

Hassan is a quiet and kind gentleman. Underneath his stall, he showed me a mamma cat and one of her kittens that he looks after. He feeds her in the morning and gives her fish at night so that she can look after her little babies. He gave me cold water as he was I was struggling with the heat. Kind man. I can see that in his eyes.

Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown 258 was withdrawn from use today after 19 years on the island as its MOT expires on Tuesday and the company have decided on the last minute that they will not be putting it up for another test this year. However I can confirm it has entered preservation and is going to Scotbus Preservation Group in Dundee. Acquired brand new in October 1999 for Whites Coaches, it passed to Leasks in April 2010 and it soldiered on for 8 years, by January 2013 it was the oldest low floor vehicle still on the road in Shetland but by March 2017, it became the oldest member of the Leasks fleet.

It has proved to be very reliable and still continued to provide good service regularly but overall it has proved itself very useful and popular over the years because of its reliability and go anywhere nature. Due to this, it was used on all routes across Shetland for 8 years it was a very reliable machine, rarely broke down and continued to provide good service regularly during its final years. Overall its in better condition mechanically both inside and out than all of the native low floors on the island although it was off the road from July 2014-January 2016 getting a new rear axle. Is rather sad to see this bus go as it is one the best ones and have grown up with it since age 5

(Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb)

Head pressure, medically referred to as intracranial pressure, is pressure between the skull and the brain. Too much pressure in the head can restrict blood flow to the brain and press on structures in the brain. It is a serious medical condition that has the potential to cause severe damage to the brain or spinal cord. Contact your doctor if you experience pressure in the head. Symptoms of abnormal head pressure include lethargy, behavior changes, headache, seizures and vomiting.Even though it is tempting to think of our energy body as a sort of plumbing system with tubes and vents, the reality is completely different. Our energy system is more like clouds of gases that merge and mingle and sometimes cramp up. Or even better, you can imagine it as different coloured streams of water that weave and intermingle and sometimes freeze into ice. These different coloured water streams are our thoughts and emotions and when we try to suppress these thoughts and emotions they “freeze“ and we experience them as “blocks“ in our mind and body.he head chakras (forehead and crown) have to do with the mental part of our being which consists of our thoughts, concepts and beliefs on the intellectual and spiritual levels. When we experience head pressure we are literally suppressing certain thoughts that we do not want to think. It is this suppression that we experience as the head pressure and it happens completely unconsciously. People without kundalini also often unconsciously suppress certain thoughts but due to their greater unawareness they do not feel the pain of this suppression – they are more numb.In the kundalini process, a thirst awakens in us for expanded consciousness and more spirituality. However, there may be still parts of our old ego alive that do not want to have certain spiritual insights and defend themselves by rigorously suppressing ideas that challenge the old ego. So, this is the inner conflict that plays itself out in our head chakras – the fight for spiritual insights and authenticity on the one hand and the resistance of our old ego that is not yet ready to accept some humbling insights on the other.

Before I tell you what kind of thoughts people typically suppress, I need to give you a little warning. If you are a person with head pressure you will probably not like what I am about to tell you for the very reason that you have repressed these kinds of insights in the first place. But everything in this article is based on my work with hundreds of clients who had kundalini syndrome. All the clients who could take the following advice on board now have much less head pressure or none at all.

In my experience, most people with head pressure suppress self-critical thoughts. These people describe themselves as laid-back, easy going and even loving towards themselves. They do not criticise themselves and when others criticise them, they either completely ignore it or they get angry. However, in order to be a spiritually mature person, it is important that we clearly see our many flaws (without beating ourselves up about them) and then get to work to eliminate these flaws.

For people with low self-esteem, this is not difficult to do as they are usually too self-critical to start with. But it is those people who like themselves and have a high opinion of themselves who are most prone to pressure in the head chakras during the kundalini process. (If you do not like this insight, remember that I warned you!

Kundalini awakening symptoms include strange body sensations like shaking, tingling or the feeling of moving energy. On the psychologically level we often experience greatly intensified emotions and a general over-sensitivity to ‘everything’. And on the spiritual level we may experience a great increase of spiritual interest but also a lot of confusion.

The first thing that I explain to all my kundalini clients is that a kundalini awakening and its symptoms can be compared with the awakening of our sexual drive during puberty. Both processes have a lot in common.

First of all, both processes are irreversible. No matter, how much we yearn to go back to the carefree innocence of our childhood, puberty endows us with strong sexual urges that cannot be ignored. In the same way there is no going back once kundalini has made its presence known in our body and mind.

In both processes, puberty as well as kundalini awakening, we are endowed with a lot more power than we previously had. In puberty we develop the awesome power to create a new human being and during a kundalini awakening we receive powers like clairvoyance, supernatural abilities and ultimately the ability to manifest ourselves as a divine being.

But until we are able to harvest the full rewards of these newly awakened powers we have to change radically. As we all know, the transition from being a child to a happy parent usually entails many years of difficulties until we learn to channel our sex drive into loving relationships. Everything has to change during these years – our self-image, our relationships, our ability to take responsibility for our actions and generally our entire outlook on life.

In order to manage this process it is paramount to live as peacefully, lovingly and healthily as possible. Anything that could upset ourselves further like taking drugs, having promiscuous sex or experimenting on our mind with meditation without the help of an experienced kundalini teacher should be avoided.

It is good to have a spiritual outlook on life and develop trust in a divine power. But it is important not to overdo spiritual practices as they make the kundalini stronger. If you feel inclined to meditate daily it is paramount only to do this under the guidance of an experienced meditation teacher who has gone through a kundalini experience themselves.

Do ask your local meditation teacher if they have gone through this but do not be surprised if they haven’t because real kundalini awakenings are still very rare. Luckily, in the age of the internet you can also try to find a teacher online and build a trusting relationship in order to get guidance about how to meditate.

It is particularly important to avoid any form of energy healing like reiki or acupuncture. These forms of healing are devised for people who are not in a kundalini process and often do a very good job. But once we have become over-sensitive during a kundalini process these healing modalities can aggravate us severely.

A comparison with puberty can explain why this is. Imagine being upset about your emerging sexual needs and you go to an energy healer to get rid of them. It is obvious that this is doomed to fail. Our libido, as well as the kundalini, is far stronger than these approaches and we will only end up in even more suffering if we try to remove of either of them.

Another thing to avoid is breathing exercises like re-birthing or yogic breathing. Both are powerful ways to alter our body and brain chemistry and can have disastrous consequences if used even slightly in the wrong way. Breathing exercises can be compared with prescription drugs. They should only be used when administered by a skilful physician and certainly not to someone who is seriously challenged by a kundalini process.

I have had many kundalini clients who read all sorts of horror stories on the internet and were very afraid. It is this fear that makes kundalini symptoms far worse than they need be. Just think of how a teenage girl would feel who is repeatedly told that there is the risk of being murdered by her own husband. While this may be true in extremely rare cases, it is not helpful to frighten young people in this way.

The same can be said about kundalini. In rare cases people may deal with it so badly that they end up in a very painful place. But in order for this to happen a lot of negative factors have come together and it is not useful to frighten yourself with these ideas on top of the challenges that kundalini entails anyway. So I strongly advise people to stay away from reading any frightening material about kundalini.

A kundalini awakening is a very individual and personal process, just like the development of a satisfying sexuality after puberty is a very personal process. People usually benefit a great deal from personal guidance in both processes.

For a kundalini awakening, you need an experienced spiritual teacher who has gone through this process themselves – just like all youths need guidance about sexuality and relationships from someone who has mastered these areas themselves.

People also benefit from guidance about how to deal with their budding clairvoyance, which can be very confusing and frightening for the unprepared mind. However, the biggest challenge is always the very personal material that emerges from one’s unconscious mind during this process, requiring personal advice.

Finally, it is paramount to adjust your spiritual practices to accommodate the kundalini so that it flows calmly and steadily and does not erupt in fits and starts. In order to do this, you need a personal relationship to a kundalini teacher who can guide you in this way.

His apartment is one staircase above what was my first studio space.

Last Friday I left a bag of cameras and film with him when, because of a sudden downpour, I couldn't get them to my car. We had only met for three, four minutes. I did not know his name. I returned the next day to fetch the cameras and asked if I could take his portrait.

Will I ever expect practical strangers to say yes to that question?

Or to follow through with such ease?

Like yesterday, Jax followed Diane intently while she was doing yard work today. The difference was that, unlike yesterday, he could only follow her with his eyes. She was working in the old raised-bed garden area, which is a mess of mud and overgrown brambles right now in the middle of winter, and we didn't want Jax making a complete mess of himself in there -- not good for his heart condition, probably. So he had to watch her through the picket fence, and he didn't like that very much.

The camera fitted with an uncoated f/3.5 Zeiss-Opton Tessar and Compur Rapid shutter (1 - 1/400 sec) arrived via ebay in a very good condition with hardly any signs of corrosion or paint chipping and with light tight leather bellows. Even the longer shutter speeds below 1/10 second are not delayed and operate fine.

This camera has a five-pointed star (asterisk) behind its serial number, indicating that it is a pre-war camera on storage sold after the war or was produced in the first years after the war (1945-1949), but made of parts from pre-1945 production. According to its serial number starting with "N", this camera body was produced between 1941 and 1943: camera-wiki.org/wiki/Zeiss_Ikon_serial_numbers

The slightly bluish shining front lens element indicates single coating but seems to be a case of surface oxidation, resulting in natural lens coating. Reportedly, there was a short run of uncoated lenses produced in the newly established West-German Zeiss factory immediately after the war. Zeiss-Opton Tessars produced later were always coated and for indication a red "T" has been engraved into the front cell bezel. According to its serial number, the lens of this camera was produced between 1946 and 1951, presumably already 1946 (see low range number): camera-wiki.org/wiki/Carl_Zeiss_serial_numbers

The Ikonta C (6 x 9 cm format) production line started with the 520/2 model, which again was labeled with its catalog number. The 521/2 model produced from around 1938 until 1952 added a shutter release on the top cover of the body and a double exposure prevention. In the early 1950s, the 523/2 model was launched adding a chrome top plate with an integral viewfinder and an accessory shoe. The 524/2 model produced until 1953 added an uncoupled rangefinder and was also called Ikonta M or Mess-Ikonta. Like the Super Ikontas, the C Ikontas were fitted with either a three elements Novar or a four elements Tessar lens, alternatively with a maximum aperture of 3.5 or 4.5. In contrast to the post-war Ikontas, the pre-war models have uncoated lenses with their focal length given in centimeter (rather than in millimeter) on the front lens engraving. The uncoated pre-war lenses (colorless, not bluish) may flare more strongly and can lead to distorted colors if used with modern color film.

For more Information on uncoated lenses see the excellent article by Andrej G posted by Bellamy under Japan Camera Hunter (JCH): www.japancamerahunter.com/2015/03/film-uncoated-lenses-an...

Pre-war Zeiss Ikon folders require some rethinking with regard to their handling: The shutter release button of the Ikonta C model 521/2 and its successors is on the left (in viewing direction), next to the film winding crank. The button to open the camera is on the right, at the typical shutter button place. The red dot signal next to the shutter release button of the Ikonta 521/2 model indicates that the shutter is ready to fire, whereas a red dot signal for example of my past-war Agfa folders indicates that the double exposure prevention is active and the shutter release is blocked. Furthermore, the tripod sockets of the pre-war cameras have a 3/8 inch mount (rather the current 1/4 inch mount), but adapters are available.

General remarks:

Folding cameras deliver medium format in a truly pocketable form. Their compact size makes them great travel cameras. The basic concept of folders is a flexible structure between camera body and lens so that the camera can be folded up. The bellows as the folding element makes folders compact but is also the weak point of the design by developing light leaks, especially in the folds and the corners. Folders have to be opened by pressing a button on the top plate. Powerful springs release the lens cover and push the lens into working position. As a result of the big negative size, medium format folders give far more resolution than any 35mm camera, along with very smooth images (a huge amount of detail with finer grain and better tonality). The results look very clean and sharp, with a lovely background blur when the aperture is set wide open. Compared to the clinical data of digital sensors, film emulsions deliver more imperfection and therefore appear less sterile. The texture of the grain and the tone of the color produce a certain feel or look, that digital photos lack. High-resolution scans of large negatives deliver an ideal basis for digital picture editing. But you get only between 8 and 16 shots per film roll, depending on the film format.

Using folding cameras requires some care and forces you to make some serious decisions before taking a picture. The shooting procedure is fully manual, which means that all parameters have to be set up by hand: You have to adjust the distance, the aperture, and the exposure time, allowing the time to make sure they are set up correctly. Optimal exposure requires the use of an external exposure meter, which delivers the range of aperture and exposure time combinations available for the given light and personal demands. With their archaic film advance, the uncoupled rangefinder, the front cell focusing, and the lack of an exposure meter, most medium format folding cameras are no point and shoot cameras. But slowing down by carefully adjusting and controlling the decisive photographic parameters increases the amount of satisfying pictures and revaluates each single shot.

But using vintage folding cameras can be highly problematic: Agfa Isolettes, for example, are infamous for the poor plastic material used to make the original bellows. Constant opening and closing over many decades leave tiny pinholes, particularly in the corners. Ikontas and Super Ikontas, however, come with leather bellows, which normally remain light tight for many decades, provided that the camera has been stored carefully. Besides the problems with light leaks, the lubricants used by the camera manufacturers prior to the 1970s or 1980s are another weak point. They often cause frozen or stiff focusing rings and retarding shutters, the latter resulting in strong overexposure. Dust in the shutter mechanism and fungus or haze between the lens elements are further items. For proper function, the lenses and shutters usually must be disassembled, cleaned (sometimes adjusted), and reassembled.

There are only few experts with sufficient know-how. This camera has been checked and sold by Foto Wiesner, Coburg (Germany).
