The mill of Nazareth Cement Company has been a local landmark since 1899. Several corporate ownership changes have occurred, and a plant modernization was performed sometime in the late 1970’'s or early 1980’s. Here, Conrail’s Cement Secondary local WJAL-12 works the cement plant in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

With a whopping 18 passenger cars in the consist, a Union Pacific Office Car Special grinds upgrade as they head west at the site of daylighted Tunnel 28. This train is rumored to be traveling Utah's Cane Creek Branch later this week before continuing to Salt Lake City.

The two previous shots were taken from the other side (City Park). This time the setting sun is over my right shoulder and I'm standing on the banks of the North Esk River. The light illuminates the old office buildings of the now defunct Launceston Gas Company which used this site to convert coal to methane gas.

In the hopes this set of power would head down the hole, I was hanging out in the GO parking lot watching them make their switching moves. They disappeared into the yard and few minutes later they emerged with a long string of loaded grain cars. I got a shot, as this consist resembled a company photo freight with all CN equipment. These cars, only 2 months old in this photo, a striking contrast to the 62 year old GMD-1s leading the movement.

While the path to the beach seems like it takes a while, there are plenty of things to view along the way. Part of the estuary along the way.

I have been waiting and hoping for a shot like this for a LONG time! The crested caracara has been on my bucket list for years and has now moved to my lifer list. In all, I probably saw at least a dozen of these magnificent raptors on our recent trip to the Bolivar Peninsula in Texas. This is a family portrait - mom, dad and junior. I saw them a distance off and was able to creep closer and closer to them after I parked the car. They eventually took off one by one as I stood with my mouth wide open. Luckily I was able to get glass on the last one as it did a fly by right in front of me. But that's a story for a different day......

Taken at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge.

My sincere thanks to all who spend the time to view, like or comment on my photos. It is much appreciated!

Some people whom one meets are just delightful. To be in their company is like seeing these flowers in the afternoon sunshine.

Seems it was late afternoon relax time. Two quite content to preen and chill while the one casually sifted the water, not caring to move from where it stood. They're looking so healthy. Must be plenty of food down there.

This bumblebee was unaware that Grand Daddy long legs had arrived.

It was too busy enjoying the last blooms of my lantana.
