So I ended up not using the photos on my contact sheet because when I tried editing them, they didn't turn out looking much different/better than the original. The things I noticed about my community is that there is a calming vibe about it. It is very gloomy, yet at the same time very soothing. I chose these two (new) images because I liked the way how I edited them to change the vibe that they were portraying. For my first photo, I changed the tone a little bit to a much more warm/ autumn tone. For the second photo, I thought that the original looked very bland, as if there wasn't enough contrast. The ethical choices I had to make was to make sure that I don't edit the photo too much to remove from the original ethics of the photo.
Parts of the interior of Oman are very hilly, the highest peak is around 2000 metres. Many communities have traditionally lived in this hilly terrain and recently the traditional villages have been abandoned and people have resettled into modern houses with all facilities. This is a typical view of the countryside and the villages.

Charitable donation by the EBRD Community Initiative
This year, the EBRD Community Initiative made a charitable contribution of EUR 50,000 to the Women Access to Entrepreneurship Development and Training Society (WAEDAT).
WAEDAT was founded in 2004 and launched under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Rania in 2005. The organisation provides mentoring and training for women and young entrepreneurs in Jordan, to raise their awareness of local development opportunities and provide basic skills to start their own businesses.
The EBRD Community Initiative donation will enable WAEDAT to support local women entrepreneurs in strengthening and expanding their business activities.
There was an exhibition of the local goods and crafts, produced by the members of WAEDAT in the conference centre.
I experimented with light because there was light coming out the window. My community is at school. I don't know how it connects with the other project.
We stopped to visit this village not far from the Tad Lo waterfalls. My local guide told me that this was the Lae minority and identified the village as Khien Khong, neither of which I have been able to find any confirmation of. I believe these were either Laven or Nge / Nge-Trieng ethnic groups and indeed the community house / spirit house is in a picture on a webseite identifying the location as an anonymous Nge village here: asianitinerary.com/bolaven-plateau-discovery-tour/
I got to take a trip for Mendon over the weekend. I ended up getting caught in the beginning of a blizzard on the way back from St. Joseph. Fun times.
Crossroads LLC and Douglaston Development, a luxury developer known for building the "The Edge" condo complex in Williamsburg, wants to build a huge new complex on top of the land where Morning Glory Community Garden stood just a few months ago. The project stands to drive up rents across the South Bronx, and displace poor community members who have been fighting to improve their neighborhoods since capitalists and politicians abandoned them in the mid 1970s. Bronx Community Board 1 hosted a ULURP public hearing on Thursday February 23rd. The Morning Glory Community Garden Crew were out in force to make a spectacle of this sham process, as a soon-to-be billion dollar developer (Douglaston) gets more than $100 million in goodies in exchange for some marginally "affordable" apartments over the next 30 years (all requirements expire at the end of the term, then it's a market rate free for all.) They're building a new, huge hospital and will merge the Old City Hospital (called Community for years now) and Mercy Hospital together. Don't know how that will work, but I guess we'll see....
During February 2014 Reading Buses took delivery of five 'door-forward' versions (numbered 161-165) to increase capacity on routes 19/19a, 27/29 and the Community Link routes 18/28/28a. 162 is the dedicated vehicle for the latter and is seen in Forbury Road during the evening peak of Friday 21st march; although in 'generic' livery it has been given vinyls for its chosen role.
