I'd forgotten that I'd taken this yesterday until I downloaded what was on my a card today. This is a boiled egg with toasted 'soldiers'
Close inspection of the reflection in the metal window frame suggests this “one shoe off, one shoe on” guy is reading a book. Probably not Mother Goose. I didn’t stop to ask him. Local Manhattanites may recognize the counterintuitive slogan on the lunch bag. Single exposure, cropped wide. Map location is accurate.

Still under the weather but since having the "man flu" doesn't get me any sympathy, I was persuaded to go for a drive after the rain stopped today. We did find some nice light here and there, which really brightened up the remaining fall colors. For this shot, I used a Singh Ray warming polarizer to minimize reflections and warm up the colors a bit.
As it turned out, we had a really nice afternoon and later I was comforted with a crusty sour dough bread, basil pesto dipping oil, a favorite Niagara Gold cheese, and a glass of Megalomaniac red wine. The latter was purely for medicinal purposes.
Comfort is having lots of brothers and sisters to keep you safe. A Flickr Friday submission on the topic "Comfort".

A dilapidated pick-up has a long standing appointment for shelter with an equally old farm building that provides false comfort. Those of us who are old often find paradoxical comfort in peers that are no longer strong either.
Even though this was not my home, I loved it here. Some days I long for the comfort of no windows, a fresh breeze, and pure abandonment.
This is an oldie ..
So, I feel much more comfortable shooting nature, being slow and focused than shooting city with its rush and hassle. Although, I would like to practice a little more photography of the city to feel its pace. Someday...
