Have a wonderful day.. thanks for looking..

This is a combination of two captures taken one after the other. The bottom half was captured at 30 seconds smoothing out the whipped up water from the intense wind at sunset with the passing front, and I liked the 30 seconds exposure, but also want to roughly freeze the motion of the clouds, as they were extremely pretty there in the sky to, but moving very fast. Having the 9 Stop ND on for the long exposure, I did not want to waste time taking the ND filter off, so just quickly changed the aperture to f/4 and then captured the scene at 4 seconds. Thus the top half of the exposure (the sky) is at 4 seconds.

I have two main passions in my life, my photography and my love of the game of golf. It is very very seldom that I combine the two but here perhaps I had an opportunity. This was taken on my iPhone on a foggy morning on the golf course where I am a member. For once I really would have rather been out with my camera in a woodland somewhere than on the course with my clubs but I tried to make the best of it with this phone shot.

Loaded coal from Clymer slogs through the rainy streets of Clearfield at dusk. They'll tie up in the yard at Clearfield, and another crew will run south for another 65 loads before the trains combine and the 130 behemoth is moved to Keating where it will become a NS 632 for Baltimore.

CSX K025 reverses against their train after grabbing empty ethanol train K623 in Teaneck, NJ with CSX SD40-2 8365 leading. Never thought seeing SD40s leading widecabs up the River Line in 2021 would still be a thing.

Yeah....20,000 iso. Grab shot...stopped on the road...grabbed the camera that had the 100-400 on it...and fired off three frames. I had it set on manual with auto iso for bird photography from a couple of days ago. Traffic was coming up behind me, so I had to hurry. I think it came out alright. Near Utica, Il.

The weather was clearing up and soon after we arrived it stopped raining, and a beautiful light appeared both in the sky and the sea.

Thank you Flickr for giving me tips about these iconic lighthouses.

Bellevue Beach is a is a 700-metre-long sandy beach at Klampenborg on the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark.

The iconic lighthouse or lighthouses, cause there is two of them, have quite a history. In the 1930s, when the right to vacation became legally mandated, Denmark's coastline became the country's most popular holiday destination. Gentofte Municipality made plans to develop a piece of coastline north of Copenhagen into a seaside resort complex combining an existing park designed by the landscape architect C.Th. Sørensen with beach facilities catering to some 15,000 paying visitors a day. Three architects were invited to submit plans for a Bellevue beach complex. The winner was the young architect Arne Jacobsen, who had just opened his office. Characteristic of his approach to architecture and design—he was preoccupied with the concept of Gesamtkunst—Jacobsen designed everything from bathing cabins, lifeguard towers and kiosks to tickets and uniforms for the staff. The complex also included the Bellavista apartment buildings (1934), a restaurant and the Bellevue Theatre (1936), all of which still stand today in the immediate vicinity of the beach.

The beach with the lighthouses opened in 1932.

For BDCC monthly challenge - Wood Wide Web - A wide topic that could be anything from trees, blooming fungi or even something creative playing on the theme.

I found this a difficult one and since I haven't been able to get out and about much this month I went for the creative option. I thought about broccoli 'trees' but only had a little bit of useable broccoli, then I remembered my little bottle brush trees so combined the two with some dried leaves and berries for the 'forest floor'. So, not the greatest image but it's the best I could come up with as the month is drawing to a close.

I am not sure why this combine has been here in the grass along the field for some time-perhaps abandoned or waiting for the harvest. I know it was used last fall. I don't get up early for morning shots much any more since I am back to working almost full time again.

Two combines in the distance cutting a fresh swath through the middle of an enormous wheat field north of Havre, Montana.

For 2024, NBM Railways and CPKC teamed up to run a joint Holiday Train over the Eastern Maine Railway and New Brunswick Southern Railway. For the occasion, NBM decorated SD70M-2's 6416 and 6410 with lights and decorations, which will remain for the holiday season.

Here the train is seen rolling west through Lambert Lake on EMR, after completing the Customs inspection at Vanceboro.

Wat Saket, the Golden Mount temple, illuminated in festive lighting during a temple fair in November.

.

A few years ago I had been at this view point to shoot the sun setting behind the temple, but the decoration here was absolutely worth a re-visit. How do you think?

.

It's a fabulous view point, with many of the beautiful temple roofs peaking out from the dark; the Temple of the Emerald Buddha visible on the far left and even the top of the red Giant Swing is visible if you look closely. Warm wind on your nose, while shooting across the historic old town from a dark parking deck of a high rise hotel, just one of the awesome things to experience in this amazing city :)

.

From a process point of view i notice some banding in the sky, particularly on the mobile App; whereas it looks fine on my laptop and large display. Anyone notice the same difference?

.

*edit: after some trials on 12-Dec i added a Gaussian blur, then noise, and darkened the sky slightly with Color Balance and Contrast; all combined produces less banding on all device screens that i have on hand, hope it looks ok on your end.

.

happy Sunday and shooting friends!

It's harvest time on the Canadian Priaries

I took my usual 4.5 mile evening walk up to the North Downs yesterday and took this 4 shot panorama at the foot of the hills. The harvest seems quite early this year...

Pinamar - Buenos Aires - Argentina.

Pinamar is an Argentine coastal resort city located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Buenos Aires Province. It has about 20,000 inhabitants as per the 2001 census [INDEC].

Located less than 400 km (249 mi) south of Buenos Aires, it is one of several small seaside communities that line the coast. Since Pinamar's main attraction is the ocean, it is a fairly quiet town during the winter months. Tourism fuels the economy during the summer. Several other coastal towns are right beside Pinamar. If you move south, you will have the towns of Ostende, Valeria del Mar, and finally Cariló.

Two facts set Pinamar apart from most of the other Argentine beach cities: it is a planned city with a very strict building code, and it has been artificially turned from wild sand dunes into a forest (mostly of pine trees, which explains the "pina" in the town's name).

City planning, as defined by founding architect Jorge Bunge and maintained by elected authorities ever since, translates into a city mostly made up of residential houses with open gardens; that, together with the pine forest, combine to make the city a very nice setting. That explains why it has been chosen as the summer resort for many well-to-do Argentinians, in particular those living in Buenos Aires.

Pine planting was originally started in Cariló -- a town nearby Villa Gesell and copied in Pinamar, although the city plan for Villa Gesell was not as carefully laid out or kept through the years.
