Interview with jewelry designer Mary Jansen, owner of Etsy's CuteWeirdFluffy shop.

The fashion industry for dolls has been growing exponentially over the past few years. New designers have popped up on sites like Etsy, Artfire, and Ebay selling creations of all sorts.
Mary Jansen is one of those wonderful new designers. Her shop, CuteWeirdFluffy, on Etsy carries an array of beautifully simple earring sets as well as a few other fun finds for Monster High dolls. I had the pleasure of talking to Mary and getting to know more about her inspirations and future plans for her store.
Mary tells me about what got her started in creating accessories for dolls. “[I was] buying the dolls and looking at the quality of their jewelry and clothing and thinking, I can do better than that.” And that's just what she did. Her design aesthetic as she describes it is “traditional designs and classic color combinations.” Easily paired with any outfit, her earrings are a perfect finishing touch. Her items range from casual to dressy and work with any style.
Now, historical inspirations have played a big part in fashion and design. Many artists and designers have credited different eras in history for their creative genius and visual directions. Mary was no different. She mentioned that she enjoys the Victorian and Renaissance eras while adding in twists of steampunk to add intrigue. And as she states “Any era where the jewelry is beautiful adds to an outfit and makes the wearer feel good.”
While you explore Mary's wares on Etsy, you may notice a recurring theme with her models. While using bald models has been a good tactic in highlighting earrings for sale, her models have a much deeper meaning. As she explains “it is to honor all the breast cancer survivors and the ones who didn't make it.” The issue is held dear to Mary as she has two women in her close family that have survived the epidemic. Her sister overcame Stage 4 Breast Cancer and her niece has undergone preemptive surgeries to prevent it rising in the future. Both lost their hair during their chemo treatments and the statement of “Bald is Beautiful” stands strong through Mary's work. “Even without hair, a woman is truly beautiful and a little sparkle helps.”
Looking to the future, Mary has plans to expand her shop into more options for jewelry as well as Japanese Kimonos for dolls. “Those are so feminine and the girls always look so great.” She will also be getting some help from another designer to bring out some new looks. “My daughter wants to help and she has a very different view of things. Lots of sparkle. What good is jewelry if it doesn't shine?” So be sure to keep checking back at CuteWeirdFluffy on Etsy. It looks like we have some great stuff in store for us!

I will begin the morning with a hot relaxing shower before dressing myself. As you are surely aware by now I love the tuxedo look and I consider white bowties to be the most formal looking colour. I will take extra care while I dress to make sure every part of my outfit looks just right, paying special attention not to make a sloppy or uneven bowtie knot.
During my "formal at home" days, of course I must not neglect regular household activities such as daily chores or preparing meals, but I also like to find time to enjoy more elegant pursuits that seem fitting for my nice clothing.
Today I plan to catch up on some correspondence in the morning. I need to finish some overdue reports and writings I have been assigned, and I will also prepare a handwritten letter to my sister in France. It feels so nice to do these elegant activities in formal wear and gloves.
I like to enjoy more elegant activities during my formal at home days. Music is a such an enjoyment for me and I will often listen to my phonograph as I go about my daily activities dressed nicely. I think it is more fitting than digital music when wearing formal clothing. I also play both the guitar and the piano, and using an instrument is also a favourite activity of mine that seems very elegant.
I have heard it said before that dressing well is a means of showing respect, both for others and yourself. To this end I try to imagine how I would act and behave differently if I lived in a bygone era with more stringent standards for these activities. This is one of my favourite formal combinations so I wanted to show more pictures than usual because I love the look so much. Today I am not working, however I have decided to have a "formal day" at home by myself. I do not have these types of days as often as I wish, but I enjoy them immensely when I do.
I will begin the morning with a hot relaxing shower before dressing myself. As you are surely aware by now I love the tuxedo look and I consider white bowties to be the most formal looking colour. I will take extra care while I dress to make sure every part of my outfit looks just right, paying special attention not to make a sloppy or uneven bowtie knot.
During my "formal at home" days, of course I must not neglect regular household activities such as daily chores or preparing meals, but I also like to find time to enjoy more elegant pursuits that seem fitting for my nice clothing.
Today I plan to catch up on some correspondence in the morning. I need to finish some overdue reports and writings I have been assigned, and I will also prepare a handwritten letter to my sister in France. It feels so nice to do these elegant activities in formal wear and gloves.

I have been experimenting lately with different outfit combinations, and today will be one of what I call my "semi-formal" days. I had planned to do a double upload again showing my semi-formal outfit and my work outfit, but unfortunately I did not take any pictures with this particular shirt and purple bowtie the last time I did a photoshoot. I have been wanting to dress better sometimes while I am at home but not always in a strictly formal outfit. My idea has been to dress in a collared shirt and some form of neckwear, but to pair that with a pair of jeans, flat oxfords, and occasionally a jumper to feel a bit more cosy. I have begun doing this about once a week, and I have been really enjoying my time dressed better than casual - but not quite formal. Tomorrow I will wake up and be bowtied as soon as possible. I will then go about my daily activities dressed nicely. I need to do some cleaning and tidying tomorrow morning, as well as changing the bedding. I will relax a little, listening to music, as well as take care of sorting some of my nature photos on the computer. I will then fix lunch, and prepare for an evening work shift. Dressing for work will be a simple matter of changing my jeans and oxfords for a proper pencil skirt and pair of high heels, and my jumper for a smart, professional jacket. That way I am in a nice collar and bowtie all day which I will enjoy immensely. Next week I will be necktied for my semi-formal day and I have taken pictures of this outfit so I will show some examples then.

Mr. Emanuele Guerrero reported that his cousin, Rey Guerrero, his girlfriend, Tupper Moran, and their two friends, Krys Tavernier and Kool, aka Oddy, had crossed the border into Mexico on the morning of October 28th to visit family in Mexico City and to celebrate Mexico's Day of the Dead celebration which started on Nov. 1st. He reports that he'd spoken with his cousin and Aunt on the night of October the 31st around 8pm that evening but then received another call around 11:30pm when......
"Rey! Did you hear that?" Tupper asked as she tried to push the huge man off her. She leaned, straining to hear the sound again. Frustrated, she slapped his shoulder and pulled his hair enough to get his attention.
"Ow dammit! What's wrong with you girl? I was just about to nut!"
"Listen baby listen! What is that?"
Rey held still, his huge manhood still throbbing inside her as he cocked his head, listening to the loud screams and wails from outside.
"What the fuck?"
He pulled out, the tip of his huge cock splattering pre cum and pussy juice all over the bed. Rey quickly reached for his pants, hopping into them as Tupper leaped out of bed.
As they both scurried to put on their clothes Krys and Kool came knocking at the door as well as Rey's Aunt Bertha. Opening the door as quickly as he could he was suddenly bewildered by the terror he could see in all their eyes.
In Spanish Rey's Aunt cried out, "Rey it's horrible. Creatures are killing everyone!"
They all looked at each other as Rey rushed over to the window to look out. "Mother of God! We've got to get out of here!"
"What is it Rey?" Tupper asked as she rushed up beside him along with their friends to look out of the window.
What they saw was a scene for a horror movie. Something so surreal it was hard to believe it wasn't some sort of hoax. But as they watched these creatures shred people and drag them like meat along the roads and out of their houses there was no doubt it was real.
Rey turned quickly busting through the group grabbing his backpack. He threw Tupper's at her and sternly looked at them all. "We've got to go! But first I've got to show you guys something and fast. Follow me!"
"Do we have anything to defend ourselves in the house?" Kool asked as he grabbed his tote.
Rey nodded, grabbing some keys from his Aunt then opened a door for them. "My cousin works for someone that... well, he has guns here in the house. Look, I don't have time to explain. Follow me."
Once all in, Rey bolted the door and motioned for them to follow. They did as requested, following Rey through the corridors. The yellow lights along the pathway glowed eerily as the group muttered to themselves. They were all frightened, not only of what they'd seen but of this secret tunnel and where it ended. Upon reaching yet another door, Rey used the keys and unlocked it motioning for them to come on in. The room was so far underground they could now faintly hear the commotion on the surface. There was a florescent glow of lights behind a wall of clear plastic in front of them that Rey pulled over, walking directly over to a table.
"What? What the fuck man?!" Screamed Krys. "What's going on here?"
Their mouths dropped open gazing across the room. Pallets, piled high with brinks of cocaine lined one side of the room and on the other wall, gun safes lined the wall down to a dark corner. The florescent lights overhead hummed as Tupper turned from the scene, looking at all of them.
"Seriously?! When were you going to tell us we were on top of a gold mine of blow and an arsenal of guns Rey?! We all could have been arrested you fuck!"
Reaching in a drawer grabbing yet another set of keys and a phone Rey held his hand up looking at them sternly.
He quickly dialed a number and held the phone to his ear. In Spanish, he talked to the other person. "Cousin! It's Rey. How the fuck do you think I got this phone. Have you looked outside? It is? No man, they're all over us here. We're in Aunt Bertha's basement now. Yeah. Yeah. No shit?! Oh fuck yes!! Ok cousin we'll be there in 20 minutes. Look for us ok. Be ready. Ok ok Peace cousin."
Rey turned to the group, "Ok my cousin is in a compound not far from here. But the road has got a lot of curves so it'll take us a few minutes to get there."
Kool rolled his eyes, "Is there a road in Mexico that isn't treacherous or curvy?"
Looking over at Kool, Rey threw his hands up, "Look man, it's the best we've got unless you've got a better plan."
"No no, I'm good with curvy and treacherous. As long as we can get out of here."
Kool looked over at Krys reaching to pull her to him giving her a comforting hug.
Tupper walked over to Rey and smiled. "Sorry about the outburst babe. I was, just surprised is all. Look you're working your ass off to get us safe. Thanks"
Rey leaned to give her a kiss and smiled back. "Hey, I appreciate that. And I'm sorry about this. I should have told you. I was just afraid you'd think I was involved"
They hugged each other and kissed again then Rey gave her a quick smile before turning back to the group.
"Ok guys, I've got the combinations to these gun safes. Let's get loaded and get out of here."
Tupper knew about guns so she helped Krys with her two pistols and Rey gave Kool and Aunt Bertha a quick lesson with their weapons. They grabbed as much ammo as they could carry as well as a few grenades, stuffing their backpacks and totes full. Rey took Tupper's hand and pulled her along with him to the door calling out to his Aunt and their friends as he walked to the door to the garage.
One car sat in the dusty room. A mint 1964 Chevy SS Chevelle lowrider convertible. A custom green paint job adorned the Chevrolet's stout streamlined body and the white and lemon colored interior looked brand new as the group hovered around it amazed. They laughed a little as Rey unlocked the door and got in sliding the key into the ignition. The rest of them piled in as he fired the big block up. It roared like a beast, echoing off the walls, the side pipes blasting out their position even from underground.
Krys leaned up from the back seat, "Pull the top up Rey!"
He reached to push the button to bring the top up, but the mechanism only groaned in pain.
Kool quickly jumped out of the car and pulled at the top trying to get it to start, but it wouldn't budge and from the sounds fast approaching it was obvious they were out of time.
"I guess we're leaving the top down this time" Kool exclaimed as he jumped over into the back seat with Krys and Aunt Bertha.
Ahead of them about fifty yards they could see the lights from the houses and street through the door's wood slats. Rey punched the accelerator, and the Chevy's tires squealed, smoke and dust pouring out behind the classic car. They could hear the creatures they'd seen before screaming as their shadows ran back and forth in front of the doors, causing the light that shone through to flicker.
The lowrider increased in speed and Rey reached to turn on the headlights.
"We're going to bust through the doors you guys so hold on when we do, and be ready to shoot! Be ready for anything! Here we go!"
The old rickety wood doors seem to crumble to toothpicks as the long green Chevrolet burst through, it's tires screeching as Rey turned a hard left directing the lowrider out of town. The monsters leapt at them from every direction grabbing at them. At one point Krys screamed when one took hold of one of her braids. Kool was quick to respond, knocking the monster over the side of the car forcing it to let go.
Rey screamed for them to keep their heads down just as one landed on the hood of the car, quickly scurrying it's way up over the window at them. Tupper pulled her Uzi and fired, injuring the creature just as another rushed up behind it, leaping across the length of the convertible grabbing up Aunt Bertha. In an instant it pulled the poor woman, screaming, up from the back seat and over the back of the car's trunk. The group screamed after her as Rey spun the car into a stop. Jumping out of his seat he rushed through the dust only to see his aunt completely overwhelmed by the swarm of monsters, all clawing at her and gnawing at her flesh. He screamed in horror and dread rushing back to the car and from the looks on his friend's faces, he could tell they'd all seen what happened. Rey quickly put the car back in gear and turned to continue out of town before the monsters could reach them again.
The road, or better yet, the path that led to the compound was just as treacherous and crooked as had been promised. They were on a mountain side and along the road there were no barriers between them and falling to their deaths as Rey carefully guided the long green Chevelle swiftly towards their destination. The air was cool, too cool to have the top down, and they all huddled in their seats to try to stay warm, still very quiet and somber, dumbfounded by the loss of Aunt Bertha.
In the distance the raspy voices and screeches of the strange creatures rushing through the woods up the hill and behind them grew closer at they pushed on down the path, through the dense brush and trees.
Rey handed to phone to Tupper, "We're nearly there. Hit redial. The man answering is my cousin Emanuele. Tell him we're nearly there and to be waiting for us."
Tupper dialed the number and identified herself, letting Rey's cousin know they were on their way. Since they'd last been in contact however the swarm had found its way to the compound and although it was still secure, he and his men were having trouble getting to the front gates. He assured Tupper they would be there however, but to be prepared for anything.
Looking at Rey, she slid the phone back in his pack then looked back at Krys and Kool as well. "Y'all heard all that right? They're coming to let us through, but the monsters are there too, now. Rey's cousin said everyone in the area was calling them the swarm."
Kool checked his gun and motioned for Krys to do the same. "Everyone best check their guns and makes sure they can get at them fast. Looks like we're going to need them."
They finally saw the lights at the compound gates. The place looked like it had once been owned by someone very wealthy from what they could see in the darkness. The antebellum antique lamps that adorned the gate's post certainly gave it away, as their golden glow pierced through the haze.
Reys slammed the brakes, stopping the car just a few yards from the wrought iron fence and reached for the phone quickly calling his cousin. There was gunfire from somewhere down the length of the fence, and they could faintly hear screams and more gunfire from well beyond the compound as well. Laying the phone in the seat Rey put the lowrider in reverse and gunned the engine to turn the car, but they were stuck. Mud flew from the back tires spraying the leaf covered dirt road behind them.
"Damn! Tupper, call him back. Tell my cousin we're stuck here! He must come to the gates to let us in. We can't even ram our way through now!"
Tupper called Emanuele back and after a heated exchange she tossed the phone back on the seat. "He's coming! He said to hold them off till he gets here Rey!"
They all looked at each other. Krys jumped out of the car to go check the gates just to be sure they were locked, but they didn't budge. Kool came up behind her to double check with her. She turned running back to the drivers side of the car as Rey stood up on the seat readying his guns.
As her friend approached, Tupper slid to the driver's seat and reached out to hug Krys.
"Shit Tupper we can't get through." Krys lamented as she looked around, pulling her guns.
Tupper only nodded looking at her friend "We're going to make it, I know we will. They're on their way."
Just then they could hear the swarm's macabre screams and hisses as they came at them from every direction.
Kool shot the first one, as it rushed up the path toward the back of the car. He turned just in time to see several leaping from the trees at them and from over the gate itself. Pulling his gun, he rushed up just in time to shoot another as Tupper shot still another, running toward him.
Turning his gun to one of the swarm scampering it's way across the hood of the car, he caught a glimpse of Krys bounding her body over the back of the lowrider's trunk shooting yet another as Rey fixed with his foot on the back of the seat shooting in every direction.
Rey screamed out "Kill them all. Don't stop shooting! Don't stop......"
Emanuel Guerrero reports that he found the green Chevelle but could not find any traces of his cousin Rey or his companions.
At the time of this investigation our forensics department has found that the blood we found near the vehicle and on the car were that of Rey Guerrero, Tupper Moran, Krystal Tavernier, and Kool otherwise known at Oddy.
We've yet to recover their remains or any traces of their whereabouts.

During my "formal at home" days, of course I must not neglect regular household activities such as daily chores or preparing meals, but I also like to find time to enjoy more elegant pursuits that seem fitting for my nice clothing.
Today I plan to catch up on some correspondence in the morning. I need to finish some overdue reports and writings I have been assigned, and I will also prepare a handwritten letter to my sister in France. It feels so nice to do these elegant activities in formal wear and gloves.
I like to enjoy more elegant activities during my formal at home days. Music is a such an enjoyment for me and I will often listen to my phonograph as I go about my daily activities dressed nicely. I think it is more fitting than digital music when wearing formal clothing. In his spiritual quest, it is God's love that makes him love man. While the knight Kadosch, who takes his destiny in hand, who bases his spirituality on his alchemical faith and on that which he has in the perfectibility of man, positions himself as a collaborator of the Great Architect of the Universe. And from the moment his action necessarily turned towards the outside, his mission, as a Universal Man, is to transmit his knowledge. Certainly Love and self-giving are the common vectors that motivate the struggles of the two spiritual knights, but if the knightly behaviour of one is aimed at the future opening of the gates of heavenly paradise for oneself; the goal of the other is the happiness, here and now, of all humanity, in the perspective of the coming of the Holy Kingdom.
