They may look like alien worms but they are the spindly "fingers" that beckon one to take a closer look, and admire the gorgeous colour combinations of the many varieties of grevilleas that are flowering at the moment.
This one was an enticing combination of orange, yellow and peachy-pink, which I stumbled across in the grounds of my nephew's school in Sydney.

The street food vendor is sometimes somewhat underappreciated. When one goes to the street markets or pasar malam, it is often wonderful to see the many skills and interesting combinations that the street food vendors are able to come with at times due to fierce competition within the food stalls.
Some grain was intentionally added to give a filmic feel or effect.

It's located at River Point Park along the Chicago River. Perfect.

MS Mount Washington from Lockes Hill Scenic Overlook
Lockes Hill Trail in Gilford, NH is a pleasant little hike with terrific views of Lake Winnipesaukee (New Hampshire's Largest Lake).
I happened to time the hike perfectly so that the Mount Washington was going by just as I reached one of the scenic overlooks along the trail.
This little T6/Sigma 18-125mm setup is one of my favorite hiking combinations and I've been pleased with several of my images from this combination, even though it's a budget arrangement.

Yesterday (November 5) I collect data at the Yakima Area Arboretum Sparrow Patch, Yakima, Washington where about 36 Golden-crowned Sparrows have been banded recently with combinations of colored and metal bands. I found 18 banded CGSP and a number of other species that have been banded with metal bands. This is a photo of one of those birds. IMG_5500
As I mentioned before, about 5 hours ago the weather of Tekapo was a little bizarre, but at 3am the sky was brilliant for stars! Here is my first attempt for the galaxy, I have never done this before but I think I might try this kind few more next time even it's freezing to death!
FYI: So many people keep asking me how to do this shot, it's actually very simple. Come to Lake Tekapo in a nice fine weather at midnight without the disturbing Moon, then set up the tripod to scout a composition ( it's the most difficult thing ), try several diffierent combinations of ISO and exposure times until you satisfy the result! I also used a torch to light up the chruch a little bit! See EXIF by clicking properties of this shot for details.
No HDR or image blended is involved in this shot, it's a single shot recorded in RAW then saved as a JPEG by Nikon Capture NX2!
