The sun's rays breaking through a stormy sky over Brighton, East Sussex.

Clouds are an obsession. I love to watch them passing or approaching.

I'm trying to learn some post processing and would be grateful for any suggestions.

‘And every time it rains,

You're here in my head,

Like the sun coming out

Like your son's coming out,

Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen.

And I don't know when,

But just saying it could even make it happen.’

Kate Bush - The Whole Story

One of the finer greatest hits collections around. This album has many of the fan favorites and everything showcases her unique lyrics and music.

This came out in 1986 and made it to #1 on the charts in the UK and gold status in Canada.

The videos are well made and full of stories and visuals.

Running Up That Hill was with me through some difficult times and so it has a very special spot for me. This is a great collection so if you do not have it or had forgotten about it, I highly suggest you rush out and purchase it.

Here are a couple of gems from this album:

On top of the world

Looking over the edge

You could see them coming

You looked too small

In their big, black car

To be a threat to the men in power"

I still dream of orgonon

I wake up crying

You're making rain

And you're just in reach

When you and sleep escape me

You're like my yo-yo

That glowed in the dark

What made it special

Made it dangerous

So I bury it

And forget

But every time it rains

You're here in my head

Like the sun coming out

Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen

And I don't know when

But just saying it could even make it happen

On top of the world

Looking over the edge

You could see them coming

You looked too small

In their big, black car

To be a threat to the men in power

I hid my yo-yo

In the garden

I can't hide you

From the government

Oh, god, daddy

I won't forget

'Cause every time it rains

You're here in my head

Like the sun coming out

Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen

And I don't know when

But just saying it could even make it happen

But every time it rains

You're here in my head

Like the sun coming out

Looks the sun coming out

Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen

And I don't know when

But just saying it could even make it happen

Just saying it could even make it happen

The sun's coming out

Your son's coming out

[ This song is based on Peter Reich's 1973 memoir, A Book of Dreams. This song is about the close relationship between psychologist and philosopher Wilhelm Reich and his young son, Peter, told from the point of view of the mature Peter. It describes the boy's memories of his life with Reich on their family farm, called Orgonon where the two spent time "cloudbusting", a rain-making process which involved pointing at the sky a machine designed and built by Reich, called a cloudbuster. The song also describes Wilhelm Reich's abrupt arrest and imprisonment, the pain of loss the young Peter felt, and his helplessness at being unable to protect his father.

On 12 December 1941, five days after Pearl Harbor and the day after Germany declared it was at war with the United States, Reich was arrested in his home at 2 a.m. by the FBI and taken to Ellis Island, where he was held for over three weeks. He identified himself at the time as the Associate Professor of Medical Psychology, Director of the Orgone Institute. He was at first left to sleep on the floor in a large hall, surrounded by members of the fascist German American Bund, who Reich feared might kill him, but when his psoriasis returned he was transferred to the hospital ward. It was later discovered that Reich was the victim of mistaken identity; there was a William Reich who ran a bookstore in New Jersey, which was used to distribute Communist material. The FBI acknowledged the mistake in November 1943 and closed Reich's file.]

Fantastic afternoon as the clouds break up and the sun's coming out... I just know that something good is gonna happen (Kate Bush's Cloudbusting - the 1985 video was filmed here)

It's funny, the more shot's I get from these fields the more I want to try my hand at some sunset seascapes. I'm a non driver and the dramatic shorelines just aren't that close...I feel a camping trip coming on!

This weeks offering comes from the best solo artist that this country has ever produced...Hounds of love is the 5th studio album from Kate bush released by EMI records in September 1985. It is considered by many fans and critic's to be Bush's best album and has regularly been voted one of the greatest albums of all time....Side one....Running up that hill..Hounds of love...The big sky...Mother stands for comfort...Cloudbusting...Are all good songs but it is the brilliant side 2 that shows Kate Bush at her very very best, the whole side taken up by the track "The ninth wave". described as being about a person who is alone in the water for the night, their past present and future coming to keep them awake, to stop drowning, to stop them going to sleep until the morning comes...Pure class although perhaps not for the suicidal.

I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.

~Vincent Van Gogh

Can't think of a good title for this one (eta: found one-Thank you, Kate Bush. One of my favourite songs actually). And it definitely seems to look way better in Lightroom than here on Flickr- don't you hate that? I loved the sweeping orange clouds that evening with the tree silhouetted- it was a really beautiful sunset. I'd really like to get better at this type of photography.
