-- The interior of the chalet of Kutai Lama in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia.
Yesterday I tagged along with my sister to Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan to do a shoot on a new upcoming homestay/chalet (KUTAI LAMA). We met the owner and he gave us a tour of his place, which he built on his own. For now he only have one bungalow, two huge fish pond and a chalet but in the process of building more chalets, ATV track and swimming pool.
Its a lovely place for those who enjoys the nature and peace and quiet just to unwind and run away from the busy city life :-)
The young female with her back facing us has been nagging her mother for food. The mother appears to be out of sorts...
A great blue heron, wading in morning light at Lake Dora.
This is one of those shots where I had to debate with myself, it was still "low light", I was shooting at 560mm with manual focus, had to keep a shutter speed of 1/2500 because the guy wouldn't stand still ;) and I was shooting hand held (it was 35F and my fingers had gone numb). Had to step down aperture to 10 to get enough DOF. But the ultimate sacrifice was to bump up ISO to 6400 to make up for all that... So as you can see there's a bit of noise in the image... But it also looks like I did some post processing ;)
So may be some photo was better than no photo after all ... :D
A village at the outskirts of Kathmandu city, right after rainfall. Just a thirty minutes' drive from the city center, this village is popular for dairy products.

Starling on winter beech down at my Dome hide feeding station. Photo Kevin Keatley, UK, Camera Nikon D800, Lens 200-400@270mm, F11, 1/640 sec., ISO 640. Dome hide, Camera & Lens cover. I picked up the beech branch while out for a walk along the Devon lanes. As soon as I spotted it I knew it would be ideal for my feeding station, all the branches are in the same plane and would be in focus if I positioned it facing & across the front of my hide. The small branches are also nicely spaced and ideal for perching birds with the dry leaves just adding a bit of contrasting colour. I'm always on a project or working on an idea and it's great when it all comes together - Light, setting, subject & timing.
This is the first time I have ever seen the Grey Seal pups on Winterton beach in Norfolk. What amazed me was all the different colours and shades they were. This one was a lovely speckled beige colour. Sitting on snow covered sand!

Bald Eagle at Conowingo, MD 2010. It's important to shoot with manual exposure mode on these birds to get the correct exposure on both the head and the body. Use light and dark stationary points around you to judge the correct exposure. Track the bird and get the action!

This was taken before reaching the beach of Bay of Worms, Great Ocean Road. Saw a flock of males, went back to get my telephoto lens, and only this female gave me a second or two air time .... Superb Fairy-wren are always illusive ...
