Japanese Anemone / Herbst-Anemone (Anemone japonica)

in our garden - Frankfurt-Nordend

At the rear of the services on the M6 Toll road. There is a path which climbs a knoll overlooking the service area and where people are encouraged to walk their dogs. As we passed through yesterday there was a digger on the mound putting in the foundation of a new monument to the air ambulance crews. Despite all the noise I took the path and was astonished to see these deer to the rear of the site where the new housing has been built. Although it was wonderful to see it is perhaps another indication of just how far we have encroached on wildlife habitat.

Peaceful Bokeh Wednesday

Close , inside a tulip

Lock the door. In the dark journey of our night

two childhoods stand in the corner of the bedroom

watching the way we take each other to bits

to stare at our heart. I hear a story

told in sleep in a lost accent. You know the truth.

Close-up of a glacier, the colors in the photo are true to what it was in real life.

I like macro photography because it is so simple, and it is easy to find. We don’t need to travel miles to find a small subject. Only I need a 35mm macro lens which should be one on one, so I can get closer to subject and still can focus. I have three macro lenses. Tokina 100mm without image stabilization, Sigma 105mm with images stabilization, and 35mm Zeiss less. I like Zeiss because of light weight and Sigma because of image stabilization, and Tokina because of picture quality.

Bow Lake is located on the Bow River, in the Canadian Rockies. Bow Lake was one of the stops during driving on the Icefields Parkway. It was a cloudy morning; I was amazed by the magnificent peaks and reflections on the lake. The view is stunning. Spending some time walking around the lake, the scenery of Canadian Rockies is out of this world.

This was a bit different view of Bow Lake 😅

by fixing in a different angle I could get this image.

Feel you here forever

Looking Close... on Friday: Tip

On tonight's episode of "Cats Are Perfect": the ear! This delicate, soft little ear possesses 32 muscles (we poor humans only have 6) and allows cats to keep their balance, move their ears 180°, and of course hear 5 times better than us. It never ceases to amaze me how these little killing machines with superfeline powers can be so graceful, elegant, beautiful... and so, so cute! (Incidentally, the cuteness is... not incidental. They share baby-like features with lots of baby animals, which makes us subconsciously attracted to them. But these devious little monsters have also managed to tune their purring to a human baby's cries, triggering our instinct to protect, help... and smooch. We are being totally manipulated. And we love that.)

A small fabric pouch that I have. It used to hold some drum keys but not any longer.

Happy Macro Mondays

This close up photo of a Greater Flamingo shows the head and beak in a little more detail than my landscape images of them.

Greater flamingos have a unique beak that makes the diet different from many other species. They have a shallow spine that helps them filter the bait. They also have a filtration and pumping system in the beak, making it the most advanced bird filter feeder.

This photo was taken outside Arles in the south of France.

The church of Collioure is undergoing renovations and is encased in an "ugly cage", as my teddy bear Spencer and his bear friends call it. But it is still beautiful!

Thanks everyone for your amazing support! :-) Have a wonderful day my friends!

What once was close, now seems far.

Our landscape is dotted with spaces for birds. For those who stay, for those who stop and fly away.

Lakes, rivers and ponds, weave between the crops, fields, houses, businesses and malls.

Prime land for those who delight our lives with colour, flight and call.

I often wonder around the lake with my daughter. It is full of life and now, with leaves that fall.

In the time I had to lie in bed and rest, friends have been to ICU, two came home, one was laid to rest. RIP my friend.

Yet, I am still here to see the season change, to be with the people I love and savour the day. So I count myself blessed to still be here to share with you all, before it's time to rest.

Thanks to everyone for the love and support :-)
