I love how the vegetation is climbing the tree trunks.

Here's a photo of me in my Spies Like Us coat atop The Remarkables in Queenstown. I didn't actually hike all the way up here… who has time for that? I took a snowmobile most of the way… then spent about 20 minutes on a final climb, which was more than exhausting! Anyway, I was up there with my friend Curtis… I figured out a shot, framed it, then asked Curtis to take the photo… then came back and processed it after my fingers unfroze!

I was told by a friend that when I posted it the other day that there was no color or I posted the wrong format. So here it is again hopefully in the right format.

This is a view point rarely seen at this waterfall for a couple of reasons. First of all you have to cross a stream at about waist deep and it's a ripping. Then secondly since I am level with the top of the waterfall I climbed to the highest point available- and this is a 102 ft waterfall. And thirdly on a normal day this is an intense spray area. Today it was okay.

This is one of my top 3 waterfalls in this waterfall rich area of the world. It is not the easiest to get to and relatively unknown to the general population - which is great. On this day we got there just after sunrise and had this gorgeous waterfall to ourselves for the better part of 3 hours. It was fantastic to roam up and around without having to worry about another soul. And we only left when the sun popped through and was too intense to work with. Life is good.
