Images from The Academy of Urbanism's learning from tall buildings event which took place in London on 4 June 2014. The group visited the BT Tower, Heron Tower, the City of London, and The Shard to discover how these tall buildings contribute to liveable places on the ground.

Gulangyu, separated from Xiamen by the 500-metre-wide Egret River, with an area of 1.77 square kilometres, enjoys a lauditory title "Garden on the Sea." The original name of the islet was Yuan Zhou Zi. In the Ming Dynasty it was renamed Gulang, meaning ''drum waves", because the holes in the southwestern reefs hit by the waves make sounds like the drum beating.

second life virtual worlds

Oaxaca City Market

Songzhou Ancient City, now known as Songpan Ancient Town, is a historical site in Sichuan, China, with a rich legacy dating back to the Tang Dynasty. It served as a strategic military post and a bustling economic center, particularly for the horse and tea exchange. The city's architecture, including its well-preserved ancient walls made of blue bricks, reflects its storied past.

Visitors can explore the town's four main streets, ancient bridges, and gatehouses adorned with unique anaglyphs, all of which contribute to the feeling of stepping back in time.

10th July 2014, beautiful evening with lots of people in the streets

The City of London is a city and ceremonial county within London. It constituted most of London from its settlement by the Romans in the 1st century AD to the Middle Ages, but the conurbation has since grown far beyond the City's borders. The City is now only a tiny part of the metropolis of London, though it remains a notable part of central London. It is one of two districts of London to hold city status; the other is the adjacent City of Westminster.
