THEY WERE CAPTURED IN MY GARDEN AS THEY WERE.
NO PHOTOSHOP; NO DIGITALLY CORRECTED: OBLIQUE NATURAL LIGHTED.
SEE ON BLACK, PLEASE, IT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER
It did not stop raining the three days I spent in Chicago but I tried to make the best out of it. I could meet up with Stephan, one of my flickr contacts from the windy city and we went out on a nice tour together.

Sheffield Victoria Quays at night. Got lucky - a barge came along and its headlights lit up the boats. Just long enough to get the shot before the bow waves destroyed the perfect reflections.

This is an HDR photograph of the Montreal city skyline taken from the Mount-Royal panorama during the sunset. The sun sets behind this view and gives a nice subtle and warm pink colour to the sky.
An artistic approach to the city lights - glad to see everyone has learnt a new technique last night. Something fun to play around with...
Ever wondered what Gotham City would look in daylight? Maybe like this. Of course ... that's not really Batman's Comic-book City but the real Bangkok. The light on that day was so strange with the sun coming through the tropical mist... it looked to me like Gotham City in daytime.

I think it's easy to see in this picture why Prague is called the Golden City.
Though I did not even find the sunrise very nice. But the mist over the Vltava valley creates a great atmosphere.
Central Mumbai.... what was once all textile mills, now a thriving megapolis... It is supposedly one of the fastest developing neighborhoods in the world. (outside of Guangdong / Shenzhen, China)
Looks like an anime city to me.
This picture was made from three different images combined with Artizen, a freeware program. I'll have to experiment to see if I can make it look a bit more realistic.
It was taken from the same fire-escape balcony that "OVLOV" was taken from.

After Gough Island, we went on a nice Australian holiday, what a place! Our Journey started in Perth and ended in Melbourne (3600km via Campervan!)
