I also found this shot in my archives. And also I never was satisfied with that shot. But now I did just some editing with the Raw-Converter and added some sharpness. Now I think, this is not that bad, though it is one of my first shots I ever did.

On the left hand side you see the tower of the Commerzbank just behind the European Central Bank (EZB). Straight ahead a little bit right of the center you see the cathedral of Frankfurt (Frankfurter Dom). On the right hand side the "museum shore" (Museumsufer) is located. It is called "Museumsufer" because there are a lot of museums located. Annually on the last weekend of August the "Museumsuferfest" is celebrated. The "Museumsuferfest" is an open air festival which is visited by about 3 milion visitors on just one weekend.

Modern Dhaka is the center of political, cultural and economic life in Bangladesh. Although its urban infrastructure is the most developed in the country, Dhaka suffers from urban problems such as pollution, congestion, and lack of adequate services due to the rising population. In recent decades, Dhaka has seen modernization of transport, communications and public works. The city is attracting large foreign investments and greater volumes of commerce and trade. It is also experiencing an increasing influx of people from across the nation, this has made Dhaka the fastest growing city in the world.

I have titled this shot as 'City of concrete' coz with every passing day Dhaka is getting as polluted as it is getting developed. Climb a rooftop in Dhaka and you'll hardly see any glimpse of green around. All will seem pale. You wouldn't even see the stars on a cloud free night. It used to be all green with a beautiful lake where the untra-modern building is standing now. With a couple of palm trees this very sunset would have looked entirely different. But alas!! There is no room left for such a beauty in this city of dreams.

Thanks everyone for viewing and your comments are largely appreciated.

It did not stop raining the three days I spent in Chicago but I tried to make the best out of it. I could meet up with Stephan, one of my flickr contacts from the windy city and we went out on a nice tour together.
