This hyena cub was trying his luck to steal a bone from an adult. Hyenas are social animals that communicate with one another through specific calls, posture and signals. They quickly make their various intentions known to other members of the clan.

Hyenas, unlike jackals and wild dogs, do not normally brings back food and regurgitate it for their young. Cubs begin to eat from kills, near the den, at about 5 months, but they suckled as for as long as 12-18 months, an unusually long time for carnivores. (Satara, Kruger National Park, RSA)

Cheryl called me for lunch when I was feeding the birds. When I returned the lid was missing off the peanut butter and half of it was gone. I didn't have far to look for the culprit.. he was fast asleep on my fence. I wish you'd seen the look on his face when he woke up and saw my smiling face less than a foot away. He jumped ten foot in the air.

The young burrowing owlets were busy flying to and fro as they had just become aware of what the wings were used for. So cute as you can see by their actions the joy and fun they were having trying out their wings . Look I can Fly !! How I love these little guys and could stay all day just watching.

Wishing you an awesome and blessed day

Caught a glimpse of a gentleman with a hat while I was turning round and managed to take a last second snapshot

Caught this pretty Mallard drake with his girl in my pond. Usually they fly off before I even get to the pond but this time they stayed, even after Otto ran by.

Then Tank and Sugar arrived and started getting close to the pond's edge and that's when Mr. and Mrs. Mallard decided to exit the premises.

I got quite a few good flight shots. It was hard to decide what to post. But I decided on this one.

The ducks were backlit but fortunately there was enough light reflecting off the pond water to illuminate the drake to make his colors show a bit and to light his belly some.

This was sure easier than getting those little buggers, the Pine Siskins, in flight.

I thought that this Heron would have no problems eating this long thin fish; however, that was not the case. I watched it struggle trying to swallow for several minutes. I finally walked away because I thought I might be putting off its meal. I was gone about 45 minutes, and when I came back the Great Blue was in the same place, but the lump was no longer sticking out of the side of its neck.

Caught in the act :) Schiedam sheep on the wrong side of the fence.

I am not entirely sure what insect this spider has caught in its web.
