Caspian Tern Fishing at E B Forsythe NWR in New Jersey.
I enjoy watching terns fishing, so should probably try and capture the action on a movie.

When ever I see a tern I automatically assume it is a crested tern, I was pleased to discover that this is a caspian tern.

I could see the numbers on the leg band of the bird on the right a yellow C333 I have tried to see where it was banded but that information doesn’t seem very accessible online. Does anyone know where one can find more information on leg band numbers?
These two were mixing things up, screaming at other Gulls and an Otter. The Otter was standing right beside a Heron...(didn’t think I would ever see that) the Terns were diving at the Otter. The heron thought they were diving at it and flew off screaming into the distance, definitely a strong presence whenever these Terns make an appearance.

Not a great shot, but at this time it's the best I have. I was super excited to see three of these cool looking birds slice through the sky on a very cold, dark and rainy day on the shore of the Columbia River. A New Lifer Yay Me!
