"The greatest gift is a portion of thyself." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
For over a month now I've been looking at this gorgeous wreath that was folded for me with such care wondering to myself how am I ever going to do it justice in a shot?
I don't feel that I truly have accomplished just how intricate and detailed this is; and of course, as I was processing this out I thought of a better composition but having lost all of the days light, I didn't have the chance to re-shoot.
I might have to try shooting this again another day; it's too wonderful to only use as a prop once, if you ask me.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Thanks to Karin and Chri for their helping hands and of course thanks to Alex for fooling the gravity! :-)
Mother care also includes making the kids independant, the kids wanted to drink, but the response: go away, your teeth are too sharp by now.
Staircase: Cour dāhonneur, Les Invalides
āLes Invalides, commonly known as HĆ“tel national des Invalides, is a complex of buildings situated within the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The HĆ“tel des Ivalides was commissioned in 1670 by Louis XIV in order to provide accommodation and hospital care for wounded soldiers. Constructed from 1671 to 1676 by LibĆ©ral Bruant, then by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and Robert de Cotte, it is one the most prestigious monuments in Paris.
The complex operated as a hospital and retirement home for French war veterans up until the early 20th century. By the early 1900s the dwindling number of veterans led to the building being deemed too large for its purpose. The remaining veterans were transferred to other facilities in Paris and this paved the way for the museums to open in place of the hospital. The modern complex does however still include the facilities for about a hundred elderly or incapacitated former soldiers.
The MusĆ©e de lāArmĆ©e or the Military Museum of the Army of France was created [within the Les Invalides complex] in 1905 just after the World Fair and is the result of the merger of the MusĆ©e dāArtillerie, opened in 1796, and the old MusĆ©e de lāArmĆ©e created 100 years later. It extends over 8,000 square meters (86,100 square feet) and is made up of a museum and two churches with some 500,000 objects. This makes it the largest museum of military history in France, and one of the leading ones in the world.ā

OK, how about 30 days of photos taken from my bed?
This is Lola, barely able to reach the top, checking on me. My bed is one of the only places the dogs aren't allowed.
Isn't a merry-go-round such a powerful image for innocence and childhood? Summertime for me is filled with memories of carnivals, amusement parks and carousels. When I was younger I would opt for the car you could spin in and we would make ourselves so dizzy just spinning and spinning. What seat did you like to take on the carousel?

Intensive Care
A birth. So many doctors in the room over by the newborn baby, only one finishing with the mother. The father, over by the baby, with a terrible look on his face.
The mother is taken to her room. So tired from the long ordeal and drugs, yet confused as to why the baby is not in the room with her, as is the usual custom now.
She is alone, as if everyone has forgotten about her. She calls the nurse to see what is happening and is told that they do not have any information nor do they know where her husband is.
And then the doctor comes in, grim, to tell her two babies had died in intensive care so things were a bit hectic at the moment. He also told her that her baby was also sick and in intensive care. That was where her husband was, with the then unnamed baby. They would try to get information to her soon, but with the other deaths, it was difficult right now.
The mother cried, only heard the word kidney. The doctor gave her a shot and put her to sleep. ©Teag Mcgillivary
Great day in Stoke with Tea, Reasm, Riz, Moot and guest Prestonian Moz...Cheers to the NTRPRNRS for the invite down, and Tea1 for the joiner.
For some hard earned extra cash, our streets are also left a little cleaner. She looks like the returnables are collected with care. More than pulling her weight.
The future of the Amazon forest depends in large part on those whose livelihoods depend on the forest and who care for it.
I used their favorite food, grain pellets, to lure the goats onto a new climbing structure. Julianne was the first to climb up the ramp, while Peppers stood up on his back feet to eat the ones he could reach.
But I care.
Tagged by Rachel to write anything, a poem, a story, anything at all - so here's a poem I wrote a couple of weeks ago that fit in with this photo and coincided with the windmill spinning inside my head.

In an overcrowded bus spotted these 2 young migrant workers enjoying their ride without consideration for those ladies standing in a packed bus. Looks like Singapore's courtesy campaign didn't deliver the message...

Improbity
In each word we say
Mendacity
We pretend to pray
Perfidious
The words of Jesus
And anytime
We end up smashed to pieces
Ingratitude
In a world of lies
We are free from cares
We close our eyes
I assume
There is no healer
To heal this world
To make us cleaner
I assume
There is no healer
To heal this world
To make us cleaner
Free from cares
Hypocrisy
We show each day
Leads into darkness
We go insane
Understandably
We are of no account
We jeer the creatures
That we once found
It`s tenderness
We are living on
So it`s not wonder
That we`re all gone

Downtown
By Petula Clark
When you're alone
And life is making you lonely,
You can always go downtown
When you've got worries,
All the noise and the hurry
Seems to help, I know, downtown
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?
The lights are much brighter there
You can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go
Downtown, things'll be great when you're
Downtown, no finer place for sure,
Downtown, everything's waiting for you
