The first arriving 50 firefighters took just 36 minutes in a well coordinated offensive fire attack to access, confine and fully extinguish flames within a single three-story residential unit of two occupied floors above a ground level garage. Firefighters quickly and safely evacuated a mobility impaired female resident from a unit adjacent to the fire. No civilian or responder injuries have been reported.

This is an extremely rare 1986 Chevy Camaro Contempo Cantara GT. Only 50 of the Contempo Cantaras were built and sold through select Chevrolet new car dealerships, and of those, only 4 were Cantara GTs. This Contempo has 36,000 original miles and is stock except for the IROC hood and the modern 18" Foose wheels.

While on the Marginal Way, we were fortunate to witness one of the most spectacular sunsets that I've seen in quite a while. The whole week before had been pretty nice but this evening, on the shore, everything just lit up in orange and pink with just enough clouds to make it interesting.
Technical info:
7 exposure HDR from 2 seconds to 1/30th @ f5.6, ISO 100 with an additional exposure of 2 minutes with a B+W 3.0 ND filter. HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro through Photoshop.

La versión en inglés de tema (“The best thing about me is you”), se lanzó con gran éxito en YouTube, donde alcanzó dos millones de visitas en tan sólo dos días.
Por si fuera poco, recientemente estrenó el video de su segundo sencillo, titulado “Más”, dirigido por Simon Brand y filmado en vivo durante el concierto de apertura de su tour, que se llevó a cabo en el Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot, de Puerto Rico.
El corto, que ya puede ser visto por televisión a través de diversos en canales de música; además de portales de internet y redes sociales, “captura la incansable y contagiosa energía de Ricky en el escenario junto a sus bailarines y músicos”, señaló un comunicado.
Por otra parte se rumora que el cantante de 39 años recordaría viejas glorias de cuando cantó, en 1998, el tema oficial de la Copa del Mundo de Francia.
Y es que pesar de no tener nada confirmado, podría interpretar la canción oficial del Mundial Sub 17 de fútbol, que se celebrará en México a mediados de mayo.

It was kinda late and i was running out of light, so i stayed in el teatro principal looking for more people for the project. In my search i met Jack.
Jack is from Puebla and he's a musician, being more specific an opera singer (the second i get to meet, now i hope to meet a soprano) and he has been a tenor for 2 years, it took him 5 years of preparation to become one. Unlike Israel, i didn't ask him to sing because i forgot to do it, but i guess it would have been to much to ask.

Ya era un poco tarde y me estaba quedando sin luz, así que me quedé en el teatro principal buscando más gente para el proyecto. En mi busqueda conocí a Jack.
Jack es de aquí y es un músico, siendo más especifico es cantante de ópera (el segundo que conozco, ahora espero conocer a una soprano) y es un tenor desde hace 2 años, le tomó 5 años de preparación para llegar a serlo. A diferencia de Israel, no le pedí que cantara porque se me olvidó preguntarle si podía, pero creo que hubiera sido demasido pedir.

At 12:20PM on December 22, 2021 the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 20200 block of W Cantara St in Winnetka. The first arriving 50 firefighters took just 36 minutes in a well coordinated offensive fire attack to access, confine and fully extinguish flames within a single three-story residential unit of two occupied floors above a ground level garage. Firefighters quickly and safely evacuated a mobility impaired female resident from a unit adjacent to the fire. No civilian or responder injuries have been reported.

This is an extremely rare 1986 Chevy Camaro Contempo Cantara GT. Only 50 of the Contempo Cantaras were built and sold through select Chevrolet new car dealerships, and of those, only 4 were Cantara GTs. This Contempo has 36,000 original miles and is stock except for the IROC hood and the modern 18" Foose wheels.
Exterely rare 1986 Chevy Camaro Contempo Cantara GT. This is an extremely rare car with only 50 Contempos made that year and 4 with the GT package, which is the wing and front spoiler. This pic has the original wheels and a set of crazy front headlight louvers!

Dunsmuir, California Trip, part 1, 18-19 Aug 2017
The Calrailfans had a camping meet at Cantara Loop, above Dunsmuir, California, the weekend of 18-21 Aug 2017. In the event, only one guy camped out at the loop. Several of us stayed in hotels. Anne came with me, so we stayed in a hotel in Dunsmuir.
The drive up I5 took about 3.5 hours, not including a stop for lunch in Willows. The traffic was a bit thicker than normal with people heading north to Oregon to view the eclipse.
Along the way, we saw a California Northern train near Zamora. I got a grab shot through the windshield.
Dunsmuir was smokey from forest fires in Oregon and the first two days we were in the area, we had no views of Mt. Shasta due to the thick smoke.
Our first night in Dunsmuir, we ate at a restaurant near the track and the ZLCBR, the Los Angeles-Portland intermodal, train came through during dinner. After we ate, I took a walk and wound up at the station, where a southbound MOW train stopped for a crew change.
Dunsmuir has always been a railroad town and if the railroad does not have the backshops that it had in steam days, there are memories of the SP in things like a semaphore signal in front of the post office.
On Saturday morning, I drove to Cantara Loop and hung out with several of the other guys for a while. A northbound manifest came through while I was there,and the first fellow to arrive had seen a tardy northbound Coast Starlight and another freight. After the manifest passed, the lineup showed nothing for several hours, so after visiting a bit more, I went back into town and had lunch with Anne.
After lunch, I wandered to the station, where Phil, a member of our group who works as a UP conductor and lives in Dunsmuir had just arrived on a southbound train. We visited for a while, along with John and David, who were also at the depot, before it was time for me to head back for dinner.
The sudden rupture of a 33-inch water main during a period of freezing temperatures brought Los Angeles Firefighters to the 12000 block of Cantara Street in North Hollywood, California on January 18, 2007. An LAFD dump truck and skiploader joined Neighborhood Firefighters in the quick and effective creation of sand barriers to divert rising water from dozens of homes and into the area's drainage system.

I hiked a mile along the tracks carrying cameras and tripods, to catch 4449 under steam without a crowd of railfans. I didn't know it would be piloted by two GP40s. fresh from Morrison-Knudsen rebuild with the then-new Speed Lettering SP logo of the D&RGW acquisition. Oh, well. Nos. 7112 and 7113 were among the first speed-lettered SP units.
This is Extachrome 64 in a Ricohmatic 225. I may post the 4x5 of the steam engine later.
