I met Israel in a kinda curious way. I was walking near the Carolino building and i heard (who i thought was) a woman singing opera, that deserves a picture, i thought. I got near and saw Israel, i was surprised that it was him who was singing in such high pitch. Israel is from Zacatecas and he learned to sing opera because his mother is a soprano. Although his mom didn't wanted him to learn to sing opera, because life is very hard as a soprano. For the portrait i aske him to sing, his very expresive. The folder his holding is everything for him, because he keeps all the songs he sings there.

Dear Mercedes
I grew up listening to your beautiful voice and learning about great and popular poets through your discography...
My eight years old son this morning said to me: "I do not know any other like her"... and he is right. No one like her...
We will miss you very much...
Mercedes Sosa - Gracias a La Vida
To all of you, who have no idea who this amazing artist is, or was…. I found this info I want to share:
Mercedes Sosa, known as La Negra, (July 9, 1935 – October 4, 2009) was an Argentine singer who was and remains immensely popular throughout Latin America and internationally. With her roots in Argentine folk music, Sosa became one of the preeminent exponents of nueva canción. She gave voice to songs written by both Brazilians and Cubans. She was best known as the “voice of the voiceless ones”.
Sosa performed in venues such as the Lincoln Center in New York City, the Théâtre Mogador in Paris and the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, as well as sell-out shows in New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Roman Coliseum during her final decade of life. Her career spanned four decades and she has been the recipient of several Grammy awards and nominations, including three nominations which will be decided posthumously. She served as an ambassador for UNICEF.

D'este val n'o medio e medio,
Entr' edras e musgo envoltas,
Ergue as torres un castelo,
Feito alá n' eras remotas
De pedra de sillería,
Cáxeque c'o tempo roxa.
Com' est' antigo edificio
Outro non hay segun contas;
Pois diz que foi levantado
Por unha Princesa moura,
Déndesd' a posta d' o sol
Hastr' a saída d' aurora;
E ind hay vellos que aseguran,
E pódia que certo fora,
Que debaixo d'os cementos
Q' os altos muros soportan,
Deixóu a moura Princesa
Pr'a que quen s' astreva, morra,
Sobr' unha trabe en quilibrio
Duas cántaras q' asombran:
Unha d' alquitran hinchida
Y-outra de moedas e xoyas.
De sorte, que quen quixere
Coller a q' ouro atesoura,
Creba unha cántara e morre
Feito carbon baixo a outra,
Quedándos' ó mesmo tempo
Sin o santo y-a limosna.
A caron d' este castelo
Agarimadiñas todas,
Ou pol-a veiga ceibadas
Como bandada de pombas,
As retelladas troneiras
Abertas ó sol q' as doura,
Alcóntrans' as brancas casas
D'a vila de Vilanova.

This is an extremely rare 1986 Chevy Camaro Contempo Cantara GT. Only 50 of the Contempo Cantaras were built and sold through select Chevrolet new car dealerships, and of those, only 4 were Cantara GTs. This Contempo has 36,000 original miles and is stock except for the IROC hood and the modern 18" Foose wheels.
