A growing fleet of articulated Citaro autobuses is used by Thun-based Verkehrsbetriebe STI on urban routes as well as on rural route 21. Route 1, part of the original STI bus route Steffisburg - Thun - Interlaken, is served by articulated buses throughout the week, as Bus 714 (part of the newest series from 2022/23) seen here crossing the shortly re-styled center of Steffisburg.

Even though it looks very similar, this is not Moscow's famous St. Basil's Cathedral. It is Saint Petersburg's colorful Church of the Savior of the Blood. However, I've decided to try the GEGL c2g filter to emphasize its textures and strong contrasts.
A classic view - the strong angular shape of Bow Fiddle with rock-pools in the foreground, Portknockie.
12 frames each ISO100 1s @ f/13, stacked. I don't like to boast about a shot being difficult, but it was all-systems-go with tripod, wind, remembering to pause a few seconds for camera-shake to disspiate before remote-releasing, all while the light was changing fast (it went from dull overcast to bright sunlit yellow rock and slightly back in 23 seconds). There were at least 9 other frames that didn't make the cut at all. None of that `slowing down, waiting for optimum light and pushing the button once' nonsense that landscapies like to spout.

Lightning bolts, cloud to ground striking the front range foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Boulder County. A view of the Twin Peaks, Mount Meeker 13,911' and Longs Peak 14,256' in the distance. This storm came in fast about 8:30 pm, one thing I have learned about Colorado Lightning storms in the springtime... they come in fast and do not last long. For me as soon as I saw some flashed in the sky, out the door and landed where I could to get a composition view of Longs Peak. As I was set up shooting a farmer showed up to deliver 8 boxes of live bees, he told me hopefully it will all go well. Lucky for me it did. The Lightning was all over in less than twenty minutes. It moved north but died out. Looking forward to the warmer weather when the lightning in the storm last a little longer. There are 8 Lightning images in the series. This is number one. Here are my settings for this Lightning session. ISO 100 - 20sec - f5.6 - 28mm. (This shot would have been helped with an ISO of 200. sometimes you have to push it a little.) Hope you enjoy them.
