Rear shot of No. 125. This was one of two of these Chevy regular cab pickup's purchased in 1990. The mate was No. 126. The county also purchased a Ford F-250 4x4 No. 131 and a GMC crew-cab No. 112 that year.
When this No. 125 was new, it replaced a 1964 Ford F-250 step side pickup.

420J2, also called 3Cr13 steel, is martensitic stainless steel, used after quenching and tempering. Compared with 1Cr13 and 2Cr13 steel, it has higher strength, hardness and hardenability, but its corrosion resistance and thermal stability below 700℃ are lower than that of 1Cr13 and 2Cr13 steel. It has good cutting performance in the annealed state. The hardness of 420j2 after heat treatment is only HRc52-55, but the performance of various aspects such as damage resistance is not outstanding. Because it is easier to cut and polish, it is suitable for mass production of factory-made knives. 420j2 is also ideal steel for the production of diving knives because of its low carbon content and excellent rust resistance.

Cutting+Slitting - 420J2 stainless steel narrow strip,special length/width plate
(1) Flame cutting: The cost of flame cutting equipment is low and it is the only economical and effective means to cut thick metal plates, but it has its shortcomings in thin plate cutting.
(2) Laser cutting：Laser cutting equipment can cut stainless steel plates below 30mm. Adding oxygen to the laser beam can cut 40mm thick carbon steel, but after oxygen cutting, a thin oxide film will be formed on the cutting surface.
(3) Wire cutting: It is developed on the basis of EDM perforation and forming. It has not only developed the application of EDM but also replaced EDM perforation and forming in some aspects.
(4) Shearing cutting：Uses a moving upper blade and a fixed lower blade and uses a reasonable blade gap to apply shearing force to metal plates of various thicknesses so that the plates can be broken and separated according to the required size. Shearing machine is a kind of forging machinery, and its main function is the metal processing industry.
(5) Plasma cutting：It is a processing method that uses the heat of a high-temperature plasma arc to partially or partially melt (and evaporate) the metal at the incision of the workpiece and uses the momentum of the high-speed plasma to remove the molten metal to form an incision.
(6) Slitting: Also known as slitting, refers to the process of uncoiling, slitting, leveling, and winding of stainless steel coils into coils of the required width.

The new grade of 316TI stainless steel sheet is 06Cr17Ni12Mo2Ti. 316TI is to add Ti to SUS316 steel to improve the resistance to intergranular corrosion. 316Ti corrosion-resistant stainless steel sheet is widely used in chemical, food, medicine, paper, petroleum, atomic energy and other industries, as well as various parts and components such as construction, kitchenware, tableware, vehicles, and household appliances. In order to ensure that the yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and hardness of various stainless steel plates meet the requirements, our 316TI stainless steel plates must undergo annealing, solution treatment, aging treatment and other heat treatments before delivery.

The title spray painted on the side of Ulster County's old number 136 likely describe its final duties in service. It was auctioned in April of 2013. VIN number was 2GTFC24H8J1562151.
We had one just like this when I worked over at Madison County. Ours was unit number 110 and is long gone now.
