On Burley Moor, south of Ilkley, is the Twelve Apostles stone circle which comprises 12 somewhat irregularly spaced stones. Dating to the Bronze Age (in UK c2500 – 800) and originally consisting of 16-20 stones, all the remaining stones had fallen by the mid-20th century and have been re-erected more than once in the past fifty years.

A Norman church extensively re-modelled in the 14th century.

It stands inside a late Neolithic Henge monument, constructed c2500 BC.

This consists of a ring bank with two entrances and an internal ditch: it was probably meant for ceremonial use.

Chevrolet Silverado C2500 5.7 V8

In my ongoing movie and TV car project I've now reached a perhaps somewhat little-known but decidedly distinctive car: Buck's / The Bride's pickup truck, also known as the P****y Wagon.

The car in question is a customised Chevrolet C2500. After the movie, Quentin Tarantino kept the car for himself and subsequently it was also used for the video for Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

British Museum. Sumer c2500 BC Early Dynastic III. Standard of Ur (found in royal grave PG779) and decorated with mosaic scenes (shell, red limestone, lapis lazuli). Each side is of 3 levels with scenes of war (one side) and peace (opposite side).

War-this side shows a battle and its aftermath. The top level has the Sumerian king in the centre, much larger than anyone else. On his left are soldiers and chariot pulled by 4 donkeys/ onagers. On his right nude captives are being presented. In the middle level soldiers in helmets and capes are marching, with other soldiers taking nude prisoners.

In the lower level the royal chariots progress left to right with increasing speed; each with a driver, warrior and 2 donkeys. Underneath are nude bleeding enemies.

I have an alternative sticker that says Party Wagon, but you've got to love the 'pixelize' function in Gimp.

AKA the New Zealand Plover, Tuturiwhatu. These charming birds are endemic to New Zealand and endangered (c2500 pairs) but a pioneering effort has given them hope. They have been placed as an icon of conservation in the country so that local communities have taken responsibility and ownership to reduce disturbance at their breeding grounds ie the sand dunes of North Island. 1992 Chevrolet C-2500 ambulance. Operated by the Ambulance Service of NSW. Fleet number 423. Fibreglass ambulance body fitted by JAKAB Industries in Tamworth NSW. When Ford Australia announced they were not importing the F-series after 1992, ambulance services around Australia immediately went looking for an alternative chassis. NSW Ambulance trialled Chevrolet and GMC cab chassis. This is one of the first trial vehicles. Scanned from a photo taken at an Ambulance Expo held at Penrith Panthers about 1992.

1994 GMC Truck Suburban.

Registered as a Suburban C2500 in April 2014.

Anglia Car Auctions, King's Lynn -

"Chassis number: 1GKGC26N7RJ725207. There's a fascinating history to this GMC. It was ordered new in 1994 by a retired US Army warrant officer with a dream to visit every state in the USA including Hawaii and Alaska, towing a trailer caravan with it. The Suburban he ordered was adapted to his own specification, with a 7.4-litre V8, heavy duty tow-pack, lowered gearing and a heavier chassis. On the day it arrived, the front seat covers were put on - which have never been taken off - and the warrant officer and his wife set off from Texas. After 47,000 miles and three years, they had achieved their aim and visited every American state. The GMC was sold in 2008 before coming to Europe with its second owner in 2010. It subsequently spent some being used in Turkey before being UK-registered in April 2014. The vendor tells us that the vehicle, which is now showing 138,891 miles on its odometer, drives very well and everything works as it should. It has an MoT valid until January 2024.

"Documentation with the van includes the V5C, a fuller account of the truck's early history, and invoices (including a 2010 American one for $5073) and MoT certificates since the GMC came to Britain. There's also a copy of the Texas Certificate of Title, and various shipping documents, plus the owner's manual and a spare set of keys."

Estimate: £5000 - £7000. Sold for £5184 including premium.
