So today we took the kids whale watching. More accurately whale spotting if you are really, really lucky and looking in the right direction at the right time.
I was hoping for whales frollicking under a rainbow but instead I got a heap of cool gull shots that I will post over the next couple of days. This series is all for you Ang, out of everyone I know I think you will appreciate them the most :-) K

This is the Bird Dog which directs the air tankers on fires. The pilots and air attack officers love this type for its speed and great visibility.

Here's and interesting shot. I actually stopped on the Carquinez bridge somewhere before 5am to grab this perspective of the Sugar Factory. Setup my tripod with the bridge deck jumping and jolting from passing trucks. Heavily cropped, lots of noise but I like it.
I'm going to have to go back. As you can see the 'Pure Cane Sugar' sign was not lit.
