I apparently ticked off this bumblebee that was intently feeding on clover...When he finally noticed he was being watched he angrily buzzed my head several times to let me know that I had overstepped my bounds.
Buzz is a bit under the weather so send some positive vibes his way please.

We found the Jenner Eagles at the west end of Penny Island, about a half mile from the mouth of the Russian River. One of them had seemed very content sitting on it's perch for at least an hour while the mate paced back and forth below on the beach. Suddenly the one below took off, did some aerial maneuvers near the perch, and then "buzzed the tower!". It soon after took off up river, maybe pissed off that it could not have the perch.
Lol, hovering co-operatively and quite territorial, driving off bees in its airspace and attempting to buzz me off too. HBBBT.
Met Buzz Lightear on my travels this morning. This dude was happily chewing the cud while I composed the shot.

Lot's of buzz, buzz, not much slurp, slurp. Slim pickings as this summer's wild flowers are fading away. A really short video of their short visits. Volume up for a reminder of the sounds of summer.
I suppose I have read in stories about the “buzzing” of power lines but I never really experienced it until this day. Maybe it was because of the storms near by, but you could actually hear the lines buzzing and kinda feel a tingle on your neck. It was pretty eery. I didn’t stay around long.
Happy friday everyone! Have a great memorial day weekend. I may have a post up on Monday, but I may also take the day off. We will see. :-)

Buzz Lightyear stands tall near the Mission: Space attraction at EPCOT. Mission: Space has had its share of controversies and may not be for everyone, but I really enjoy it. That being said, I have a pretty strong stomach for thrill rides.

Poor Buzz. It's very hard to use him as a model any more. He can't hear a thing, so I can't give him directions. He can't see well, so even tossing treats to get him to look the right direction doesn't work well. But he still is happy, and he was very pleased to be in front of the camera again. I wish there wasn't a shadow on his face, but I will take anything I can get from my big boy these days.

A very trying process, sitting on damp grass in a gale trying to photograph bees. I never realised just how fast they move!
