I shot a few pictures of this perched Great Blue Heron, and later saw that a small insect, probably a bee, was flying by in this shot. The heron didn't react at all!
I'd like mornings better if they started later. ~Author Unknown

Pouring of cocktails was supervised by that little wasp buzzing around the bar in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Here's our celebrity SoCal Snowy on top of a neighborhood chimney, getting buzzed by the local Cooper's. Obviously I had way too much lens to get the whole hawk, but you get the idea. Hawk only made one pass at her, so she was able to relax again and enjoy her morning, and I decided maybe I didn't need the 1.4 on that 600mm. I did crop this from the original horizontal format, which just included more rooftop and spark arrester on the chimney.

The Bees are loving the flowers on the Pittosporum tree. It is very pleasant to open the front door on a sunny morning and catch the scent of the flowers and the buzzing of the bees.

Our first hive set up last summer is bursting at the seams with active bees this spring.
I'm still learning to read the signs as far as photographing them is concerned but hopefully I'll get more confident and competent with experience!
My little bee and pollinator project, What the Buzz, is moving to a new home soon and I couldn't be more excited! The new space will be bigger and more interactive and I hope will continue to inspire people to do their part in protecting our little pollinating friends!
In the meantime, please come visit What the Buzz at Mullein Woods and join the group for updates on the new location!

This is not my joke – it's from a decades-old 'Bizarro' cartoon by Dan Piraro. I re-stumbled across it yesterday and thought it might translate well to a Second Life shot. :-D
I feel so sorry for the butterflies. They are constantly harassed by wasps and bees but after being pushed off the flowers they fly in a circle then return for more nectar.
