I have been seeing button flowers around for ages and have always LOVED them, as my sister did when I suggested them instead of fresh flowers. Out came our stashes once more and 200 stems were made.
Seriously though, ladies who make these into bouquets must be MAD!! They took ages!!! Or maybe I am must too bloody fussy when it comes to colours and making sure they all looked 'just right'!!
* Button wreath, made by glueing buttons to a styropor wreath (5.9 inch) that was first covered with felt.

"Cute as a Button!" also "Bright as a Button!" are both 19th century popular phrases. Although the origins of the first are harder to understand than the second (brass buttons are bright) both of these phrases came to mind when I found our latest daguerreotype addition. I find this little man both cute and bright even though he moved his head a bit during the exposure. Love the painted background with the light rays around his head and the strange rows of buttons on his shirt.

Baron Button by Laura Fearn was my daughters' favourite. Baron Button reflects the different services Wiltshire Fire and Rescue provide. Little vignettes show Firefighters at a road traffic accident, putting out a fire, teaching about kitchen safety, air lifting someone to safety and reminding us all to test our Fire Alarms. Wiltshire Fire and Rescue is supporting The Barons’ Charter project together with volunteers from Serve On.
