This series is of some little shortbread buttons I made for my baby shower (in March 08 - I'm a bit behind in uploading ;-p). Topped with pink and blue tinted white chocolate (as we chose to keep the sex of our baby a surprise). We now have our darling little girl, Lucia, who whilst in-utero was named Button!

I got a bit out of control with the processing of these photos - I wanted to try every possible variation! I've narrowed it down to 2-3 variations of each to upload here. I think the simplest ones ended up looking the best.

Buttoning the cuff

this was an attempt to make a quilt like this one: flickr.com/photos/eggmoney/400373863/ , mine doesn't look like hers which really worried me at first, the buttons were an afterthought in place of quilting stitching and I love them (I also tacked all the corners), in the end I'm happy with it

As a small child, my Nan lived with us, she always kept the buttons from old cloths.

I played for hours with the buttons that she kept in an old biscuit tin. I had favourite's, it seems crazy that such a simple concept kept me entertained for hours, and it seems if you search on google, that lots of people felt the same way about their mothers/grandmothers button box or tin.

I don't have a button tin, (seem to have quite a few buttons though) but doing this pic today has made me wish that I did, brings back lots of happy memories :)

I've seen this little guy and his mother and twin sister quite a few times this season. They are quite tolerant of photographers and other park visitors. He was feeding on the vegetation in a dried up pond - hopefully the storm forecast for tonight will help fill the ponds again.

“It won't hurt, said her other father. Coraline knew that when grown-ups told you something wouldn't hurt it almost always did. She shook her head.”

I wore this button during most of the 2nd of George W's administration. The reason was because he used 9/11 to say that anyone who disagreed with his policies was against the USA. That's NOT how the First Amendment reads. I placed the button back on my bag in anticipation of similar tactics under the Trump administration. The First Amendment still stands and so do I !

Barrette i made for a friend using an old barrette for a base, lace scraps, old buttons, beads and bits of broken jewelry, and of course a hot glue gun...

Here it sits on my messy work space... I have to see the buttons and touch them to pick the right one...

Buttons made for the promo bags for the 2-Craft Minimum craft show at Cole's Bar on May 1st at 4PM!

After trying to sew the button facing as shown in the Japanese dolly book I decide to sew it like I would to for my own shirt.

I do hope it will help and crafting as your own risk

The is a situation where a button was attacked and severely injured. No one stopped to help, even on this high-class University campus. Maybe they thought the button was beneath them. Maybe the people on campus have gotten too big for their britches. An ambulance arrived about two hours later but by that time the button was inanimate.

This is an option for the stay put dress. Adds an extra level of protection.

I made these cute button cards today. Connie & I spent the day making cute miniatures for your own girls sewing adventures :-)

all handmade buttons, truly one of a kind!

A sign in Mansfield, Ohio on the side of an old factory or warehouse. The wife and I found this amusing because she is currently working on a quilt made out of buttons. I don't know the story behind the sign, but a Google search shows that there is a Button's Auto Center, so maybe it has to do with that.

My own button bouquet! I bought 800 buttons on eBay for real cheap and I already had the wire leftover from my photo wall. The vase is just an empty Starbucks frappuccino bottle. I put water with a drop of food coloring in the bottle for effect, but am going to pour it out so the wire won't rust.

I ran into Woody on Castro Street, and admired this button on his hat (which was virtually all he was wearing). He took it off and gave it to me!
