Butterly is the kitty that lives across the street with Mija.. Neither cat is really friendly but I don't really care because I seldom see them...
Installation Boy Butter (2021) by Belgian artist Kasper Bosmans.
At Museum De Pont Tilburg NL, he displays packets of butter, cast in bronze. It's referring to the butter-smuggling at earlier times in the region.
Currently I'm seeing these tiny flowers everywhere. They are apparently known by the names of butter-and-eggs or johnny-tuck and are native to California and SW Oregon.
I had photographed them once before but then could not find them again for a long time. Now I'm seeing them all over the place, growing in what seems like a harsh environment right next to the ocean.
The best-selling peanut butter sandwich cookies in the U.S. Nutter Butters normally come shaped like peanuts, but these were sold as a 2-cookie single-serve pack.

Been away from my cameras and from Flickr for a spell. Diving back in with a quick iPhone shot from late summer that I'd forgotten about. Late afternoon on City Hall Plaza just after I voted early at Boston City Hall in the MA primary (as I would be out of town on election day). The Custom House Tower is peeking out in the background, sandwiched between the Brutalist City Hall and the pair of 1960s-1970s era office towers on the right (28 State St., 1969, and 60 State St., 1977).
p.s. "bread and butter."
UPDATE: This made Explore for November 14, 2025. Thanks Flickr! Always an honor.

Butter Bridge, Glen Kinglas, near Cairndow, Argyll This single-span masonry bridge was built under the supervision of Major Edward Caulfeild, as part of the military road from Dumbarton to Inveraray. It survives virtually unaltered, as it was bypassed in the 1930s. This view shows the bridge, over the Kinglas Water, from the north west. The snow-covered mountain is Ben Ime. The segmental arch is unusually flat for a military road bridge, but is typical in springing from the foot of its abutments. The Dumbarton to Inveraray military road was a major work, and remained in use with very little alteration until the 1930s. This bridge is on the Arrochar to Cairndow section known as the Rest and be Thankful
Yellow-rumped Warblers are sometimes called "butter butts." Easy to see why and how this species was named. They have been in Central OK for a couple of weeks, but this is the first good shot I got of one showing the bright yellow rump. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
today I started my Christmas cookies.... Snickerdoodles (everyone's favorite), Peanut Butter (new this year), Raisin Jumbles (a must each year) (not pictured) and Rum Balls (a favorite)(not pictured)...
Many more to make on the weekend...

Really, I wanted to make my delicious peanut-butter pie, but I ran out of energy. Riley was watching me set up this photo and thought it was much more fun! Have a fun weekend. 😃
Witch butter, it may be a sign that a witch has been there and enchanted your cabin.
The yellow fungus Gullkrös shines beautifully. Goldfinch grows as a parasite on skin fungi, which in turn grows on dead or dying deciduous trees. In English it is called "Witches Butter".
According to an Eastern European legend, you should be careful if there is a gold rush growing at the entrance to your house, because it could be a sign that a witch has been there and enchanted your cottage. The only way to get rid of enchantment is to break the sponge so that the contents run out.
This is a close-up HDR photo of the inside of the glass cover for the butter dish. I love the strong graphic design of the circular motif and radiating curved lines.
