There are two common species of Butter and Eggs wildflowers found in Colorado. They are called "Butter and Eggs" because their flowers are pale yellow ("butter") and tinged with orange ("eggs").

This is Tall Butter and Eggs, aka Dalmatian Toadflax (Linaria dalmatica), deemed an invasive non-native species in Colorado. But they looked very attractive in the grassy slope at Red Rocks Park.

"Butter Butt" is a local nickname for a Yellow-rumped Warbler (Setophaga coronata). Riverstone Wetlands, Sugar Land, Texas.

A Yellow Rumped Warbler sitting on a branch during the Warbler madness at Norval Ecology centre this past spring. I really enjoyed photographing these Yellow Rumped Warblers as they were feeding above the Credit river.

Stop by, bring a friend, look around!

You butter come back :)

The Butter Bridge sits just below “Beinn an Lochain” (901m) and crosses the flowing Kinglas Water, in Glen Kinglas, Argyll. The bridge was completed around 1748 as part of Major Caulfeild’s military road that ran from Dumbarton to Inveraray. The bridge probably got it’s name from the tradition of bringing cattle into the glen in the summer for better pasture, and the cattle would be milked here and butter and cheese would be made by the local women.

Butter Rock on the Jurassic coast, wanting to do some long exposures here but the weather and cloud movement were not in my favour plus on the ones I did do forgetting to turn off the in camera stabilization which made the images not as sharp as they should be.

This non long exposure capture of the side near Bat's head looking towards Durdle Door in the far distance using a firecrest Polariser only for this one managing to capture the lone seagull at the same time...

Unused for MM. These images were made by first photographing the dish in front of an orange screen, that image was processed, displayed and the dish photographed again. One dish two images.

Another shot from our trip to Durdle Door. I thought the rising sun highlighted Butter Rock quite well.

Also called Yellow Toadflax, which is not very appealing, and Linaria Vulgaris for the Latin speakers among you. Please note that vulgaris simply means "common," without the modern English connotations of 'vulgar.' Grows wild, quite pretty, spreads prolifically, some consider it an invasive weed, since it's not native to North America, but has become naturalized here from Asia and Europe and has spread across the continent (a little like dandelions, but not quite so fecund).

I made this image on a dewy morning in August.
