A very simple photo , but the simplicity of the ocean and coastlines are my happy place. Just your basic sea, sky, sand.
In solitude, I find solace by the sea,
Where peace whispers its tranquil melody.
The ocean's embrace, a sanctuary deep,
Where worries fade and souls, sweet release.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage.
For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island â where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish.
Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved â as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials.

The broad neck and huge bill give this beautiful Finch a very peculiar profile.
The bill is extremely powerful and allows it to open hards seeds from trees and pits of a range of fruits.
It lives in and around forests and spends a lot of time high up in the trees.

Looking a little bit tacky here but this Robin is over two years old now which is a good age for a Robin. Always hanging around in the same area in one of my nature reserves I often go to visit. Ever since I first spotted this as a juvenile there has always been a dark patch below the right eye that is still there to this day. My little friend here has become very tame and always so very photogenic and hopefully will be around a bit longer yet. In the 1400's when the Robin was named the colour orange had not been classified and this is why we say that the Robin has a red breast and not orange. America has an eagle so it's about time the UK had the Robin as its national bird !!!!!!

We found a pride of 18 Lions several times at the edge of a large plain with lots of prey. Most of the time they were resting in an area with trees, bushes, shade and some water. They only became active late in the afternoon

but it is mainly the outcome of the need we have felt for making democracy such a good thing, like a scrubbed and shining schoolboy. Actually democracy partakes of the sweat and blood of the real world. It is grimy and dangerous and will never survive until it can learn to understand the ways of bullies and take its own part. I happen to care for it not because of any moral perfection it may have, but because it is by and large the best instrument I know for giving us the kind of world we want to live in :-)

I wanted to photograph the Vienna Christmas Market in all its lit up glory, but work meeting ran late and only managed to make it there after everything had closed. Pesky work getting in the way of my photography - aarrgghh! So you get to see it after hrs...which is still pretty cool!
but what i feel that matters
today it's nostalgia
knowing this will be the last summer
i will enjoy this beautiful, rural scenery
Usually, Roses are red
But this Rose is blue
And this unique one
Is only glowing for You
Although ...
This BLUE-tifulness
Is not genuine, I guess

Old houses always have vibes. This one was particularly interesting. It is maintained beautifully, but has some rather strange vibes coming off of it is in an area that could be very busy. It brings nothing to the area because itâs been closed for quite some time.. iâve always thought when I see really interesting properties if walls could talk, what would they say? This house didnât seem to be able to share. No one seems to know the story of the closures of every business that has tried to survive in this historic building. The only comments I obtained from a couple of locals is that the place is haunted and very creepy.. one lady shared a worker has been coming and going doing some restoration and his constant companion, a small, mixed breed dog stops, staring at the door, and refuses to go in even though her owner is in there. That is a curious thing. As the little dog is quite adventurous per the lady, and always accompanies him on all jobs . hmmm

Frail but still standing, the Hundred Guinea Oak is now over 600 years old. William John Chute who owned The Vyne in the late Georgian period was offered a hundred pounds and later a hundred guineas for the timber.
He flatly refused to sell the oak which you can see for yourself at the top of the lime avenue.
Uprooted but strongly we hold. The spring that washed away our soil still quenches our thirst. Watch us grow.

Wizard Falls streams down the Metolius River as autumn colors burnish its banks in gold, amber and red. Not a plunge falls but more of a deep gorge sliced between volcanic rocks that form its bed, Wizard Falls resembles more of a rapids.
Spoon feeding in the long run teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon.
E. M. Forster
As far as iconic pieces of public art go, none may be as daringly modern or whimsical as Minneapolisâ iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry.
This giant spoon and cherry was erected in 1985 by artist Claes Oldenburg and his wife, Coosje van Bruggen and is the centerpiece of the Walker Art Centerâs Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the largest urban sculpture park in the world. Oldenburg is an artist who is known for making oversized versions of everyday objects and food products. Together with his wife he set up a number of public sculptures, including Chicagoâs Batcolumn sculpture. The spoon was Oldenburgâs idea, who had a habit of doodling spoons ever since 1962 when he was inspired by a spoon resting on a piece of fake chocolate. The cherry in the piece was van Bruggenâs idea, wanting to use it as a comment on the gardenâs otherwise staid layout.
The spoon itself weighs 5,800 pounds and the cherry, another 1,200 pounds. The cherryâs stem also acts as a fountain which sprays into the bowl of the spoon and off into the pond beneath. Even the pond itself has meaning, being shaped to resemble a linden seed, drawing attention to the rows of linden trees planted nearby.
The city of Minneapolis seems to have largely embraced the massive sculpture, expressing almost universal outrage when Spoonbridge and Cherry was vandalized in 2012 as part of a âKony 2012â protest. The artwork was cleaned up and still remains as a somewhat goofy, definitely unforgettable icon of the Minnesota city.

This is a Giant Swallowtail, the largest North American butterfly species. with a wingspan range of 86-140mm (3-3/8" to 5-1/2"). It flitted about my yard for a few minutes, but always returned to this mass planting of phlox.

Le Petit Prince Antoine de Saint- ExupĂŠry.
This forest is located in the middle of the National Park of Casentino Forests Arezzo (Tuscany).
It is famous because it was a forest full of bandits who robbed the travelers.
It was given to San Francesco by Count Orlando of Chiusi della Verna.
San Francesco built a famous sanctuary, today a place of pilgrimage.
It seems that in this place the saint received the stigmata and converted many bandits in the woods...
Thanks for your recent visit ,comment, fav and invite, always all much appreciated...
I wish you a wonderful week :)
