We didn't see a lot of clouds on our trip, but almost every time we were lucky enough, they looked absolutely great. Like this time at Mono Lake, our most northwestern spot of the tour. The clouds have been burning everywhere, west and east. Also got a pizza for dinner so that day was pretty successful.

A few miles outside of Vegas. The rare storms blowing over the mountains are a nice change from the disgustingly sunny weather that is the norm.
This photo by Matt Freedman www.silentcolor.com will be part of an exhibition at Reno Airport. Look out for it if you are passing through on your way to Burning Man.
The Tetons are one of the most impressive mountain ranges I've ever seen. I feel quite lucky to have captured this scene with these fiery clouds. The light continued to be good throughout the sunrise and I hadn't realized until I came home but one of my shots this morning contained a bird flying above the Tetons. Quite a lucky capture for me.

Every year thousands of people volunteer at Burning Man for the Lamplighter's nightly procession. The Lamplighters are the people who carry the torch for the rest of us burners and I guess some could say they are the guiding light of the burn. As you can see from these shots, there are a ton of these lamps that all need to be filled, carried and lit and it is all done by the graciousness of volunteers--as are most things at Burning Man. This is just one of the myriad ways that one can offer up his/her time to make Burning Man a better place.

Rainbow Bridge is a 75 ft long, 30 ft high, 4 ft wide walkable sculpture covered in multicolored LEDs. This cheerful arch rises from the playa, something to behold and playfully traverse. Rainbows evoke love, magic, hope, inclusivity, and wonder– some of our favorite aspects of Burning Man.

Sorry that you had to wait that long.
This is my first published photo on flickr with my tamron 17-50mm 2.8. Allmost all my previous shots were made with my Pentax kitlens. Up till now very happy with the results.
Got Framed is a life-sized frame that captures a notable image in the distance. Up close, it’s the ultimate stage to strike a pose on. Inspired by the artist’s Abuela, Rosamelia, in Puerto Rico who turned 91 last year, the design is a Baroque style, gold, beveled frame with 91 roses for Rosamelia, identical on either side. The solid structure and ladders inspire awesome participation, encouraging passersby to be the art.
In the words of my friend Bjorn, I've "been putting that 50mm to work again." And I think this shot closes the series of photos from my recent visit to Richmond's International Buddhist Temple. But I know I'll return. November 22, 2008.
(I should also point out that the temple appears to have put a "single incense" rule in place, so the incense burners are much less full than they have been on my previous visits: "Smouldering and blue".)
