Not a ruin but an Elizabethan summer house that was never completed. Begun by Sir Thomas Tresham, the building remains incomplete & virtually unaltered since his death in 1605.

Hartland Abbey
Built in the 12th century, Hartland Abbey survived as a monastery longer than any other in the country. Gifted to the ancestors of the present owners in 1539 by Henry VIII, it remains their family home today.
