You may run but you cannot hide!
Not my greatest of focuses , however this bug looks almost comical with his mouth open as if he is trying to be not noticed.
I am making kaleidoscope patterns again. Here is one based on the bug photo that precedes this image.
The last of the interesting bugs photographed at this forest reserve - I assume some sort of assassin bug.
Seen as I slowly wandered back from the stream to the lodge.
OK... So it is Sunday morning and ML comes flying into the bedroom with Rolando. Yeah... she names bugs. Gotta love her! Wanna read more? See my blog at: www.hisfault.com/2006/05/21/meet-rolando/
Here is a bug bite I received several weeks ago. I actually had three of these size and four other smaller ones.
Can you believe I got these in the span of (at max) 20 seconds? All I did was walk from the front door to my car. Once I got in my car I started itching like crazy and I had thought I was having some sort of allergic reaction... but nope... bug bites. Eew. I have no clue why bugs love me.
They are specialised to live in the deadly traps for other insects, taking advantage of sharing meal with the plant. Sort of like clownfish and anemone.
I think it is sylvaticus but if anyone knows otherwise with this tricky genus that would be appreciated :)

Sorry for the lack of current pictures lately (including 365 Toy pictures). I'm working on catching up with the final West Coast shots and some other stray leftovers so I can post photos from Sweden (365 Toy photos are interspersed with those).
Alittle reminiscent of your horse box. The day I win the lottery I buy this bug. Pulled back as far as the surroundings would let me in order to give the feel of real abandonment. Such a shame.
This photo fulfils requirement 3 - bugs. I saw this fly clinging to the plant near the entrance to the medicinal herb gardens and took this shot. In comparison to the pictures of other insects I took this one really stood out in juxtaposition of the black and hairy fly upon the pale, spiky head of the plant. The hairs on the back of the fly and even dust on its wings are visible showing how macro photography can unveil a world hidden beneath one's nose. I took this on a A7iii with a 55mm and 26mm of lens extenders. The camera was in aperture priority with a very narrow aperture to ensure the entire subject was in focus. The camera decided the ISO, shutter speed, and focus.
In post process, I increased the clarity and selectively increased the contrast on the belly of the fly to bring out the extensive detail upon its body.
The public library Summer Reading theme for 2008 was Catch the Reading Bug! So of course Stories With Claire provided a program about bugs. One of my friends asked me to include a publicity picture on Flickr -- so here goes!
The Dead Bug Funeral Kit comes with a 32-page Illustrated Buggy Book of Eulogies with Ribbon Bookmark, Casket, Grave Marker, White Clay Flower, Burial Scroll, and Pouch of Grass Seed.
It costs $20 to bury your bug right. I have decided to leave him where he was slain, to serve as a warning to others.
www.linenspa.com/Products/ Perhaps the most popular is the vinyl mattress cover because it is the cheapest so it is easily found in most stores. However, you should know that it gets hot under you the longer you sleep on it and it also makes crinkly noises as you change sleeping positions. If you feel you can live with this then this may be the best option for you if you are on a tight budget.
